The aims of this seminar are:
1. To update information on venomous snakes and snakebite in Africa.
2. To review the way forward in the improvement of education on the correct
first aid and treatment of snakebite in the developing world.
3. To identify and explain the benefits of good quality antivenom and the
dangers of those that are sub-standard or inappropriate.
4. To demonstrate the importance of reptile conservation including both
venomous and non-venomous snakes.

Saving Snakes
A Bio-Ken conservation initiative to save snakes from being
killed.
Snakes are a vital part of our eco-system helping to keep vermin
under control and reducing disease and crop destruction.
Bio-Ken offers a free 'remove a snake' service from the Watamu
region.
We are looking to expand this conservation effort through
education, awareness and sponsorship.
