1. TECH CORPS in Ohio
Connecting Technology, Learning, and the Community for a World-Class 21st Century Education
TECH CORPS is a national nonprofit
organization dedicated to ensuring all K-12
students have equal access to the technology
programs, resources and skills to enrich their
education today and to prepare them to
successfully compete in the information-based,
technology-driven marketplace.
This school year, TECH CORPS Ohio has doubled the number of programs we offer and students we serve. With the
support of our community partners, we will recruit, train and support up to 100 tech-savvy volunteers who will engage
in TECH CORPS programs around Ohio - as a result more than 1,000 K-12 students will increase their understanding and
knowledge of how to use technology to expand their learning and acquire new technology skills critical to a successful
future!
How You Can Help:
TECH CORPS Ohio recruits tech-savvy volunteers who assist educators and students with the implementation of
innovative technology programs. Volunteers are recruited and matched with the right settings, according to their
expertise, wishes and in combination with program needs. Volunteers assist throughout the school year and give as
much time as their schedules allow.
As a volunteer you’ll gain the satisfaction of knowing that, with
your time and expertise you are making a significant
contribution to the education of today’s youth. You’ll see how
sharing your technological know-how can help students raise
their school achievement levels and acquire life and workforce
skills to help them succeed in the future. Simply put, the
knowledge YOU use daily can be shared, strengthening the
future of our community and our nation.
Thank you for your interest in TECH CORPS Ohio. If you have any
additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Nikki at
nikki@techcorpsohio.org or 614-583-9211.
TECH CORPS was founded in 1995 by Gary Beach, Publisher Emeritus of CIO Magazine. Beach envisioned an organization which
would challenge American volunteers to help K-12 schools build a technology infrastructure; much like the Peace Corps
challenges men and women to help developing countries build their infrastructures. TECH CORPS Ohio received its charter in
1999, and since that time has recruited, placed and supported hundreds of technology volunteers who have shared their time and
talents assisting in more than 300 Ohio schools and nonprofit organizations. TECH CORPS Ohio programs have impacted
thousands of K-12 students and teachers in 23 Ohio counties.
