A drop of prevention is worth a barrel of cure. Swine flu or not, we all knew that it would happen again this year. But are we really prepared?

Colds and Flu are viral infections. Once a virus has infected a cell, it can no longer be killed. The cell soon will burst and release hundreds of new viruses.

With any remedy, natural or not, it is very difficult to get rid of so many individual viruses. That’s why the common rule is, if you have a cold, you have it for a week.

However, if you have the flu, it may be worth using the big bullets and kill as much of the virus as possible. These are: Thyme Thujanol , Eucalyptus Radiata , Ravintsara , and Tea Tree Oil . They are strong anti-viral oils. Coupon: coldandflu

I have worked with people who had heavy duty flu. They had a 104 degree temperature and could no longer eat or drink. Within hours of using essential oils, they were back on track again.

When you have the flu, diffusing essential oils (fragrancing the ambient air) is not enough, because the virus is systemic.

You need to bring the essential oils into your system, through massage or internal use.
Do this only if you know about proper dosage.
Massage diluted Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) into the lymph glands.

Bacterial Infections When your respiratory system is chronically infected, (more than 10-14 days), it is no longer a virus: bacteria has settled in. Eucalyptus has very little anti-bacterial effect. Coupon: coldandflu

You can use different thyme oils, but be careful: some of these are very aggressive. Thyme Linalol and Thyme Thujanol are very mild. Thyme Borneol (Thymus satureioides) is the most medicinal Thyme. Coupon: coldandflu

If mucus is persistent, Inula is a very useful oil. Add a little to Eucalyptus Radiata . Inula is very expensive but also very powerful. Coupon: coldandflu

Prevention In most cases, diffusing essential oils over several hours in the office or in the bedroom while sleeping should prevent all respiratory infections. Eucalyptus Radiata , unrectified Eucalyptus Globulus or Ravintsara are the best. Coupon: coldandflu

Do not use industrially processed Eucalyptus, even though this is the most common Eucalyptus on the market. It does more harm than good.

A SPECIAL TREAT Herbs and flower essences can be very helpful too. They can complement essential oils and, if formulated correctly, work synergistically with the essential oils.
