officer. Recreationally, Amin Andy Lakha enjoys eating
at restaurants that have earned Michelin stars, and he
counts Chicago’s Alinea among his all-time favorites.
Alinea was founded by Grant Achatz, one of the leaders
in molecular gastronomy, who also has undertaken
classical training with culinary giants Thomas Keller and
Charlie Trotter. Opened in 2005, the restaurant had
received three Michelin stars by 2010.

• Dining at Alinea is an experience. Diners buy tickets
instead of making reservations, and the price includes
more than a dozen courses of playful and imaginative
food designed to appeal to all five senses.
Achatz is a master of presentation. He thrives on the
unexpected, with dishes served in floating balloons or
coming directly out of the table as centerpieces, and he
plays with flavor in unusual ways. Each experience at
the restaurant is unique, as the staff is continually
changing and refining the menu.
