Believe it or not, Atlanta is home to one of the biggest fashion communities in the
United States. There are a few schools in Georgia that produce some of the best
designers in the country. We have heard from many people that one of the best
schools for fashion is right here in Atlanta. Bauder College, is known for its fashion,
design, and business programs. They offer practical training for those interested in
living in Atlanta or already are ATL residents. Bauder is committed to helping
students impact the thriving Southeastern local economy and helping locals find

History
Bauder College opened its doors in 1962, originally as a fashion and etiquette
school. It was introduced as an alternative option for local high school graduates
seeking a practical education. It still remains true to it’s original sentiments. Their
desire to give Atlanta residents practical training that translates into great jobs for the
local community. In 1970, it expanded to offer fashion and interior design. Accredited
by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Commission of Colleges and
Schools, the school continued its program expansion to include Criminal Justice,
Business Administration, Accounting, Fashion Merchandising, and Fashion Product
Development.

2. Bauder College has a diverse student community and offers 13 degree programs
focused on training students to gain employment in local economic focal points.
Known for its artistic and business programs, the school offers hands on training
with small class sizes. They even offer study tours in NY and Europe for design,
fashion, and business majors.
The school is housed in two buildings within a sprawling 70,000 square foot
historical estate that has its own railroad service station. Known today as the
Roundhouse, the two buildings at Bauder College are stylishly renovated to look like
contemporary office spaces. The buildings uniquely house, equipment drafting
tables, blueprint machines, mat cutters, industrial-quality sewing machines, cutting
tables, and computer software programs giving the students the ability to acquire all
the latest skills. The school even has a main presentation room that they use for
fashion shows.
Location
Bauder College is located in downtown Atlanta. In the National Register of Historic
Places, Bauder is located in an open setting, close enough to the downtown area,
that student’s are able to appreciate the best of both worlds. The downtown’s rich
atmosphere includes a thriving restaurant scene, nightlife, and diverse culture. The
College is next to the Georgia World Congress Center and a short distance to
Centennial Olympic Park.
Reviews
Overall reviews of Bauder College appear to be a mixed bag, with more negative
reviews than positive ones. Students within this relatively small community
appreciate the location and university resources. While naysayers believe that
overall the social life and extracurricular activities leave more to be desired. From a
degree standpoint, students within business administration and the design fields
appear to be more satisfied with their educational experiences and the platform that
this school appears to provide.
