1. FADE IN:
OPENING TITLES over the following scenes:
1. EXT. PORTHCAWL PIER - DAY
Late afternoon, the mist is crawling onto the shoreline and
the wind is beginning to accelerate, causing the impending
tide to crash against the rocks beneath the lighthouse. The
waves begin to increase in size and power and eventually
swallow the lighthouse.
2. EXT. PORTCAWL COASTGUARD STATION AND PILOT LOOKOUT TOWER
- DAY
The brick buildings standing proud and tall, but moments
later out fashioned by the modern apartments across in Treco
Bay. Situated just off the pier, meters from the lighthouse,
every droplet of the Bristol Channel soaked up in ore. Its
duty less ominous today, however its history does not go
unspoken for. With its one large eye wide and alert the sea
can never move an inch without being seen.
3. EXT. PORTHCAWL ESPLANADE - DAY
The thick grey mist is passing slowly above our head into
the mountains of Wales, whilst the murky tide is creeping in
beneath. Edging towards the solid silver rock of the
Esplanade, hammering over every rock, pebble or stone in its
way. Each time it is near the grip of the waves looses its
firm grip to the slimy seaweed battalion. The worn, wise B
and B's look thoughtfully into the distance, retelling their
history through every crack in the wall and every scratch in
the paint.
4. EXT. PORTHCAWL ROYAL PORTHCAWL GOLF CLUB - DAY
Upon the highest point, in front of the Royal Porthcawl Golf
Club the sea is now at high tide and the pebbled beach has
been hidden by the deep dark waters. The mist is almost gone
and the darkness is nearing as the sky begins to turn a deep
violet.
5. EXT. PORTHCAWL REST BAY - DAY
The tide is beginning to turn, causing the white water of
the waves to burst repeatedly upon the worn rocks of the top
of the beach.
6. EXT. PORTHCAWL SKER HOUSE - DAY
The distinct creepy yellow bricked house stands still as if
trying to be inconspicuous. Dark secrets and haunting tales
seep from the gaps between the window frames. The silent
witness to the events occurred at Sker point since man first
built the boat.
GHOST (V.O)
The last witness, the last witness,
the last witness still alive.
6. EXT. SKER POINT - DAY
2. The sun is beginning to set and the silhouette of the
teenager is stood frozen to the rocks. The outgoing tide,
occasionally threatening to draw her closer to the ocean by
sucking at old trainers. Wind in her face, her long hair
dances in the skyline. Then she turns and faces the camera,
clutching a worn, ripped newspaper article.
ARTAITH (V.O)
All these years I have not
understood, my conscience has been
blinding my mind. Now I know what,
I need to no why. Why did forty
seven people die in one night?.
7. EXT. MIDDLESBROUGH DOCK - DAY, 1947
Dissolve to back of a male figure standing casually, with
hands in pockets, on the edge of the dock. He is looking out
towards the sea at the sunrise.

ARTAITH (V.O)
 18th April 1947...After
venturing from the far west of
Britain south west Wales to be
precise,the previous day. I
was now well rested to begin
preparation for the S.S
Samtampa to leave
Middlesbrough Docks at 0600
hours tommorow morning. On my
journey I had been warned
about my next task as the land
bordering the Bristol Channel,
and in particular its northern
extremity, has always been a
dangerous and deadly stretch
of coast for thousands of
years. This may be the last
time my feet are touching dry
land.
