When you think of how communication technology
has changed the world today it is amazing and
surprising. When you think of the way it exists and
where it is going I can imagine the possibilities the in
the next 6 years there will be a big different in the
communication technology the way it has develop
there will be new inventions than before.
4. Media System Dependency theory
• The theory states that the more
dependent and individual is on
the media for his or her needs
fulfilled, the more important the
media will be to that person.
• The media will have more
influence and power over the
individual.
5. Media System Dependency theory
• Media System Dependency theory is theory is a which attempts to
explore and describe the role of media in societies by studying
dependency relations.
• The degree of dependence is directly proportional to
• Individuals
• Social stability
• Active audiences.
6. Television in the Future
• Netflix will know exactly what you want to watch, even
before you do. You won’t have to spend all that time
browsing through endless lists of shows on your
television.
• Where users will no longer have to choose what they
want to watch from a grid of shows and movies. Instead,
the recommendation engine will be so finely tuned that it
will show users “one or two suggestions that perfectly fit
what they want to watch now.
• There will not be any commercials on television. That
means that the proliferation of internet TV may be the
final nail in the traditional commercial’s coffin.
• By the year 2022 everyone will own a smart TV. Right
now not everybody has a smart TV . All the
manufacturers are trying to make the best ones in the
future.
7. Uses and Gratifications theory
• The theory suggest that media audiences play an
active role in interpreting and integrating media
into their own lives. It is an approach to
understanding why and how people actively seek
out specific media to satisfy specific needs. The four
activities audiences are assumed to participate in:
• Diversion: Escape from everyday problems, an
emotional release.
• Personal Relationships: Substitution of media for
companionship.
• Personal Identity or Individual Psychology: self
understanding.
• Surveillance: using media to find out what is
around us.
8. Apple Watch in the Future

social media in the watch and people
will no longer need to be using their
smartphone anymore
• Individuals has different ways they
seek to satisfy through media
according to the use and gratification
theory.
• In 2022 people can message, call,
chat, tweet, check their Facebook
and e-mail while they are doing their
sport activities.
• Apple watch seems to be promising.

9. The Umbrella Perspective on Communication
Technology
• The Umbrella Perspective on Communication Technology; The hardware
equipment, organizational structures and social values by which
individuals collect, process and exchange information with other
individuals.
• Software and hardware: Software is information manipulated by the
computer as well as the instructions used by the computer to manipulate
the data. The hardware is the physical equipment related to the use of the
technology.
• Organizational infrastructure: This is the group of organizations involved in
the production and distribution of the technology.
• Enabling factors “are those that make an application possible (Grant and
Meadows 2008).” An example of this is “the fact that the coaxial cable used
to deliver traditional cable television can carry dozens of channels.” This
factor reaches to the hardware level of the technology (Grant and
Meadows 2008).
•
Limiting factors are the direct opposite of the enabling factors in that they
are “those factors that create barriers to the adoption or impacts of a
technology.” An example of this is the coaxial mentioned above can only
carry about 100 channels. This could make it difficult for an upstart
television station to get up and running (Grant and Meadows 2008).
•
Motivating factors are ones that provide a reason for the adoption of a
technology. They basically give individuals, organizations and social
systems a reason to take advantage of a technology (Grant and Meadows
2008).
• Inhibiting factors are the direct opposite of motivating factors. They
provide a reason for a new technology to not be adopted by a group or
organizations. One of the biggest inhibiting factors present today is the
cost to the individual user (Grant and Meadows 2008).
10. • Education is important because it is a knowledge gain.
• Education is the most important tools that helps us to build
opinions and have points of view on things in life.
• The way people are educate now will change in the next 8
years through communication technology.
• Students at all levels in their education will enjoy the
change and have flexible life in the future
11. Education at different levels in the future
• From online classes to tablets, for
each student technology will
power the classroom.
• This growth in technology will
create greater access to education
around the world. Classroom
resources will be available to
virtually anyone at little to no cost.
• In the future all things will be done
with computers and tablets.
• In schools, the way students will be
taught will be change.
