  30. 30. As the fasting is indeed an act of devotion or worship for seeking nearness in obedience to Allah SWT, making intention for it is essential (RUKUN). It teaches Muslims to be conscious and be fully aware with knowledge of what heIt teaches Muslims to be conscious and be fully aware with knowledge of what he is about to do, and making his/her resolve to observe it with utmost sincerity foris about to do, and making his/her resolve to observe it with utmost sincerity for Allah’s sake. And, the supplication of one who has been wronged is raised by Allah up to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it, and Allah says, ‘By My Might I will help you (against the wrongdoer) even if it is after a while.’” (Hadith reported by Ibn Majah)

And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.” (Qur’an: Al-Qadr: 97: 1-5)
