  8. 8. RECAP PREVIOUS LESSON “[O man] be grateful towards Me and towards thy parents, [and remember that] with Me is all journeys’ end.” (Qur’an: Luqman: 31: 14)

  13. 13. “He (Allah) it is who has sent unto the unlettered people a messenger from among themselves, to convey unto them His messages, and to cause them to grow in purity, and to impart unto them the divine writ (al-Kitab) as well as wisdom (al-Hikmah) - whereas before that they were indeed, most obviously, lost in error.” (Qur’an: Juma’ah: 62: 2)
  14. 14. “Educate (nurture) your children upon three things: [1] To Love your Prophet (s.a.w.), [2] And to love the Family members of his household (Aali Muhammad), [3] and (learn) to recite Al-Qur’an.” (Hadith narrated by Tabrani)

  17. 17. TO PROCEED ... LESSON # 8 (a) WHAT ARE THESE AND HOW TO INCULCATE. ?
  18. 18.  “If you do not know (someone), how can you then claim to love (that someone)?”  To know Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is (wajib) obligatory.  A Qa-idah in Fiqh states: “Every (knowledge), for which an obligation cannot be fulfilled except by (possessing) it, its acquisition is (therefore) obligatory.”
  19. 19. “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.” (Qur’an: Taubat: 9: 128)
  20. 20. “Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided..” (Qur’an: A’-raf: 7: 158)
  21. 21.  Thus we need to know and appreciate the “Seerah” (Life History) of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.  Traditionally, narrations of the Prophet’s life are frequently taught, recited, composed, memorised, remembered and appreciated.  Yet, our approach to studying Seerah must be to become intimately acquainted with the nobility; the stature; the outstanding and exalted character (Akhlaq -disposition); the sacrifices through trials and tribulations; his concern; his legacy and contributions; his family and companions; his likes and dislikes; etc.
  22. 22.  So how much do we know about him?  Are we aware of how concerned Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Was towards all people, that they be saved from the torments of hellfire?  Allah said: “it grieves him that ye should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful .”  Who do you think are the “Ummah ” of our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.?  Do we not realise that Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. is certainly the “Educator” par excellence? yet how much of his educational approach do we benefit from or have we ever appreciated?
  23. 23. “[And as for thee,] O Prophet - behold, We have sent thee as a witness [to the truth], and as a herald of glad tidings and a warner, and as one who summons [all men] to Allah by His leave, and as a light-giving beacon.” (Qur’an: Ahzab: 33: 45-46)
  24. 24. “And [so,] convey to the believers the glad tiding that a great bounty from Allah awaits them; and defer not to [the likes and dislikes of] the deniers of the truth and the hypocrites, and disregard their hurtful talk, and place thy trust in Allah: for none is as worthy of trust as Allah.” (Qur’an: Ahzab: 33: 47-48)
  25. 25. “CALL THOU (all mankind] unto thy Sustainer's path with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the most kindly mannerfor, behold, thy Sustainer knows best as to who strays from His path, and best knows He as to who are the right-guided.” (Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 125)
  26. 26. “Hence, if you have to respond to an attack (in argument], respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for (you, since Allah is with] those who are patient in adversity.” (Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 126)
  27. 27. “Endure, then, with patience (all that they who deny the truth may say] -always remembering that it is none but Allah who gives thee the strength to endure adversity -and do not grieve over them, and neither be distressed by the false arguments which they devise.” (Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 127)
  28. 28. “ For, verily, Allah is with those who are conscious of Him ( TAQWA) and are doers of good withal! (IHSAN) .” (Qur’an: An-Nahlu: 16: 128)
  29. 29. M ajor milestones in the Seerah: • DA’WAH TO TA’IF His Du’a for those who reject him. “(I ask You) O Allah! Guide my people for they do not know.”
  30. 30. M ajor milestones in the Seerah: "Oh, my Allah! To Thee I raise my hand to complain of the feebleness of my strength, of my lack of resources and of my being unimportant in the eyes of people. Oh, Most Merciful of all those capable of showing mercy! You are the Robb ( Lord, Sustainer, Cherisher) of the weak, and You are my own Robb ( Lord , Sustainer, Cherisher). To whom are You going to T entrust me to? To an unsympathetic folk who would sullenly frown at me, or to an alien to whom Thou hast given control over my affairs?
  31. 31. M ajor milestones in the Seerah: Not in the least do I care for anything except that I may have Thy protection for myself. I seek shelter in Your light - The light that illuminates the Heavens and dispels all sorts of darkness, and which controls all affairs in this world as well as in the Hereafter. May it never be that I should incur Thy wrath, or that You should be displeased with me. I must remove the cause of Thy displeasure until You are pleased. There is no strength nor power but through Thee."
  32. 32. M ajor milestones in the Seerah: DA’WAH TO TA’IF His response to the angels. “No (don’t destroy them) ! But my hope is that Allah will bring forth from their descendents, people who worship Allah Alone, and do not set up partners (i.e. commit shirk) to Him. ”
