How to Build a Generic Fog Cloud Box

Fog computing is a recent term used to describe cloudified resources located at network edge. Once cloudified, it is easy to control resources using the experience accumulated by cloud services, big data technology, etc. It is anticipated that sensor networks, vehicular clouds, and personal home devices will evolve into fog clouds. This paper introduces the new technology referred to as Visitation Platform that makes it possible to extend clouds to the heterogeneous hardware environments at network edge. The paper also discusses practical steps towards building a generic fog cloud box with a bare minimum of hardware -- basically, a pocket cloud.
