  2. 2. Guidance – is something that provides direction or advice as to a decision or course of action
  3. 3. Program – is a series of steps to be carried out or goals to be accomplished
  4. 4. WHAT IS GUIDANCE PROGRAM?
  5. 5. Did you know that.. Guidance Program - impart specific skills and learning opportunities in a proactive, preventive manner, ensuring all students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social development experiences.
  6. 6. Did you know that.. Guidance Program - Ensure that the needs of the students are met. - Here are the needs of the students: Academic – learning to learn Career – learning to work Personal/Social – learning to live Community Involvement – learning to contribute
  7. 7. There are also a Specific Objectives for the Guidance Program. Here are some:
  8. 8. 1. To assist each students in knowing himself as an individual and as a member of society.
  9. 9. 2. To study, analyze, and make available for counseling.
  10. 10. 3. To collect and make readily available pertinent occupational and vocational information needed.
  11. 11. 4. To encourage the use and development of community resources, both human and material.
  12. 12. 5. To provide wholesome and challenging activities.
  13. 13. 6. To make available the information obtained through the guidance program.
  14. 14. 7. To assist the student in contacting the proper agencies.
  15. 15. How to start a Guidance Program?
  16. 16. The Professional Study Method The Professional Study Method School administrators and teachers seek materials for a series of interesting professional meetings that will study the guidance program.
  17. 17. The Problem Method The Problem Method The teachers and the principal select some problem that seems to be of a critical nature in the local school and outline an approach to the solution of the problem.
