  2. 2. Defining Youth A common way to define Youth people under the age of 30. It’s not the best option out there, but is widely used in research for purposes of age based demographic segmentation.
  3. 3. The Aging U.S. Population Relative size of the U.S. under 30 population has stayed the same since 2010. The slight decline each year reflects the aging population of the U.S.
  4. 4. Average annual growth rate of 0.18%. Male annual growth rate is higher than average at 0.24%. Female growth rate is lower than average at 0.12% half of the male growth rate.
  5. 5. Top 2 age groups among under 30 youth in the U.S. 23-29 age group: 24% of U.S. under 30 population. 18-22 age group: 18% of U.S. under 30 population.
  6. 6. - 1.16% - 0.87% - 1.31% - 0.99% - 0.96% - 0.79% The aging population of the U.S. is probably best represented in the declining numbers of its most storied age demographic the High School Teenager typically aged 14-17 years old.
