Introduction to School Counselor<br />Sara comes in and says her teacher and her have been having some problems they are having trouble communicating and she just got a poor grade in her class I as a school counselor talk to her about the issues she’s having and look at her other grades in her other classes then give her advice on how to handle the situation. She then sends her to the assistant principal or handles the situation herself.<br />
  3. 3. Nature of Work <br />A school counselor helps students make decisions that help the students academic and personal growth. Some also work with teachers and Colleges . Also students with drug or alcohol addictions<br />
  4. 4. Working Conditions<br />School Counselors usually work inside in a office that’s decorated and colorful. They also work outside with students on nice days. <br />
  5. 5. Training and qualifications <br />-A master’s degree is usually required<br />-Training and experience as a teacher is required in some states<br />-Certification is required<br />
  6. 6. Job Outlook/Employment <br />There will be many opportunity's because there are many schools in the United states and schools will never go away. <br />
  7. 7. Salary and Earnings<br />There are 3 levels to counselors level one is 30,000 to 45,000 level two is 65,000 and level three is up to 100,000 dollars <br />

Technology used at the job<br />School Counselors use technology in ways that they can get information with other, they use the computer to email certain parents and communicate, phones are used for calling principals, and colleges. And emails to make it easier to get information to others faster.<br />
  9. 9. Summary<br />Yes, this career is still appealing to me and actually I think I am more interested. I don’t know where ill be in ten years but I think this could be a path I choose for my career. Its appealing because I like to be around other people. This did not fit with my Personality results because I am Artisan and not a Idealist.<br />
