The PhD proposal concerns the application/development of Quantitative
Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR) methodologies to the study of
homogeneous catalysis processes, and in addition, the experimental
evaluation of catalysts. The project will be carried out in the Quantum
Chemistry group of the URV (http://www.quimica.urv.es/%7Ew3qf/), and
codirected from the experimental side by Dr. Elena Fernández
(http://argo.urv.es/tecat/).

The position will be filled through a 3 years contract. The post will be
financed by the University, which requires applicants to have completed
their Master deg. The starting time is not currently fixed, but it will
be around January 2014.

Tarragona is a beautiful city of 115,000 inhabitants in the
Mediterranean coast of Catalonia, 100 kilometers south of the major city
of Barcelona. Tarragona is a city of long history, and is close to
modern major tourist resorts.

Prospect candidates should have a background in computational chemistry,
programming skills, good knowledge of English, open-mind attitude to
multidisciplinary projects, and enthusiasm for research.

Interested candidates should submit (by e-mail): a CV, grade transcripts
of B. Sc. and Master degrees, and the names of two referees (with postal
and e-mail addresses). Please, include also a cover letter with a brief
statement why you are interested in the position.
