Henry Delaunay, Eurocup founder  1917 organised French Cup.  1919 General Secretary of French Soccer Federation.  1920 Proposed a european competions for all the clubs.  1927 Proposed a european cup of national teams.  1954 FIFA was founded.  Delaunay was the general secretary until his death (1955).
  3. 3. 1960, First EuroCup (France)  1956 first elimination games.  1960 France only organized semifinals and final.  Spain lost in the Quarter Finals for not traveling to Moscow (boycott against USSR)  France won the Eurocup.
  4. 4. 1964 Spain won the Eurocup  Eurocopa took place in Spain just semifinals and final.  Semifinals:  Madrid (S. Bernabéu)  Spain 2 – Hungary 1  Barcelona (Camp Nou)  USSR 3 – Denmark 0  Game for 3º & 4º places:  Hungary 3 – Denmark 1 (Barcelona, 4000 spectators).  Final:  Spain 2 – USSR 1 (Madrid, S. Bernabéu full)
