  52. 52. HiCommand Device Manager Operations Integration• Consolidate & rationalize storage management points > Use a single Device Manager server to manage all your ST99XX storage. Access from anywhere using secure protocols > Improves IT productivity through consistent administrative operations across storage and operating systems > Centralized Administrator definitions. Define different authorities for each administrator. These admins can only “see” their own storage and their Hosts. > View all Hosts and Storage from a single pane. Drill down on Hosts and Storage as required > Display File System mount points and utilization > Manage all your storage from a common pool•  Single view of Open and Mainframe storage   > See all LUs/LUNs assigned and available for all Windows, Unix/Linux and mainframes > Allocate from a common pool• Integrate ST99XX Storage with Enterprise Management Systems > Use SNMP MIB and Traps to integrate with Enterprise Management systems such as CA Unicenter, HP Openview, and IBM Tivoli. > Use SMI-S interface to integrate into IBM and other CIM-based management tools          Sun Confidential: Internal Only
  53. 53. HiCommand Device Manager Improved utilization of enterprise storage assetsDevice Manager enables improved utilization of enterprise storage assets     • Immediate view of all classes of available storage and current use > View all your storage at once. Total Capacity and Unallocated: all ST99XX storage systems are supported > Show all LUNs belonging to any Storage Array or Host. Sort the columns as required.• Coupled with an easy way to rapidly allocate more storage > Filter available storage by Port, Host, External Subsystem, FC or SATA etc. Choose the storage you want and “click to allocate”. > Select existing LUNs allocated to a server and press “Add Like Storage” to add more storage like the existing storage. > Assign storage through to the servers using Provisioning Manager          Sun Confidential: Internal Only

  62. 62. Mainframe AgentInstalling Mainframe Agent You can install Mainframe Agent with the following steps. CD-ROM • Insert the CD-ROM disk into a PC. • From the PC, transfer the installation JCLs to a host machine. 1.transfer Using ASCII mode, transfer from the PC to a host machine the JCL for allocating space for the data sets on the CD-ROM that are to be transferred (YKAGALLO), and the JCL for allocating space for and extracting the data sets to be executed (YKAGINST). YKAGALLO 2.edit • Edit the jobs transferred in step 2 to match your installation YKAGINST environment. For details, see the header comments in the JCLs. 3.Create Space …execute YKAGALLO • Create space for the data sets to be transferred (execute the YKAGALLO job). Execute the YKAGALLO job that you edited to match the installation environment, which creates the sequence and the data set space for transferring the Mainframe Agent object archive and the REXX alternate library archive to the host machine. • From the PC, transfer in binary mode the Mainframe Agent object archive and the REXX alternate library archive to the transfer 4.ftp data set space allocated on the host machine. You need to transfer the REXX alternate library archive only if you plan to install a REXX alternate library. XMIT • Extract objects and libraries to the space allocated for the execution data sets. Execute the YKAGINST job that you edited to match the installation 5.install …execute YKAGINST environment, which allocates the execution data set space, and extracts the objects and libraries from the transfer data set archives to the execution data set space.
