CONTEMPORARY ALGEBRA CURRICULUM (OER) WHAT DID I CHANGE?  Technology is Desmos  Function algebra and compositions are introduced with graph transformations as the way you do graph transformations  Piecewise functions have a much heavier emphasis now  Solving with technology is a real technique  Data modeling and applications (lots) from the last decade  Logarithms are taught as an inverse exclusively (not where students convert between equations)  Logarithmic Scale  Periodic Functions and Basic Trigonometry is included
  21. 21. WHAT ELSE? Curriculum is “Guided Notes” not a text Videos with narration for the blind (all the tables are read aloud, all graphs are described) Picture-in- picture to put a “friendly face” on the math Captioning for the deaf and hearing- impaired (with instructional notes and math adjustments) Suitable for Flipped Classroom and Online curriculum
