  3. 3. Saul <ul><li>persecuted those who belonged to the Way (1-2) </li></ul><ul><li>a light from heaven flashed around him (3) </li></ul><ul><li>the Lord confronted/spoke to him by name(4) </li></ul><ul><li>Saul questions who this is (5) </li></ul><ul><li>it’s Jesus, who essentially is who Saul is persecuting (5) </li></ul><ul><li>The Lord gives him instructions (6) </li></ul><ul><li>Saul’s companions heard , but did not see . They were “earwitnesses,” not “eyewitnesses” (7) </li></ul><ul><li>Saul could not see (blinded) (8) </li></ul><ul><li>did not eat or drink for 3 days (9) </li></ul>

Ananias <ul><li>the Lord called to him in a vision by name & Ananias responds (10) </li></ul><ul><li>the Lord gives him instructions/command (11-12) </li></ul><ul><li>Ananias pushes back; tones of fear. (13-14) </li></ul><ul><li>the Lord makes it clear how important this is, and tells him to “Go!” (15-16) </li></ul><ul><li>Ananias responds, obeys, and follows the instructions. </li></ul>
  6. 6. vs. 17-19 <ul><li>Ananias and Saul finally meet. </li></ul><ul><li>Ananias’ obedience confirms the word/work of the Lord. </li></ul><ul><li>Saul </li></ul><ul><ul><li>regained his sight </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>got up </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>was baptized </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ate </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>regained his strength </li></ul></ul>
  7. 7. Today, do you see yourself as... <ul><li>Saul </li></ul><ul><li>or </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Ananias </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. The result... <ul><li>“ Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.” (19b-20) </li></ul>
