*Family members may purchase our discounted package or buy individual tickets and food
at the park
Extra Costs: Students may wish to bring extra money to purchase souvenirs,
snacks or to visit the Stingray exhibit.
Students will have the option of spending the day with their families or with their
friends as part of a chaperone group.
We will need 8-10 chaperones for this trip. As usual, chaperones must be able to
be solely responsible for choir students. If you sign up to chaperone, you will
escort a small group of students around to rides and events. Chaperone groups
will be formed based on student preferences, but Mrs. Ramsey will make final
decisions based on the needs of the whole group. If you wish to chaperone, please
go ahead and order tickets assuming that you will be selected.
8:00am Meet at Hubenak in the back parking lot, check in with chaperone
8:15am Depart from Hubenak
9:30am Arrive in Kemah, set up for performance
10:00am Perform for family, friends and Adolphus and Huggins Choirs
10:20-11:00am Listen attentively as other schools perform
11:00am Early Check-out and LUNCH!
11:30am-1:00pm Ride rides with chaperone groups
1:00pm Meet at Boardwalk Beast ramp
1:15-1:45pm Boardwalk Beast boat ride (times subject to change)
1:45-3:15pm Continue to ride rides with your chaperone group
3:30pm Meet at entrance – Late Check-Out
3:45pm Depart from Kemah
5:00pm Arrive at Hubenak
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this trip required?
No. This concert and trip is provided as a fun way to end the concert season. It is also intended for families to enjoy together, if desired.
What if I don’t like to ride amusement rides?
There are all kinds of rides and exhibits at Kemah. Most students find plenty to do that is just the right speed for you.
Do I need to bring a lunch?
No. Outside food and drink are not permitted in the park. The group rate pass includes a meal.
Can my parents take me if I don’t want to ride on the bus?
Hubenak choir members must ride the school-provided transportation to a school-sponsored event. If you would like to ride home with your
parents, please indicate so on the travel release form.
Can my family ride the bus?
The bus seats are reserved for students, teachers and chaperones.
Who can be a chaperone?
Any guardian who is willing to be responsible for a small group of students during the day. Chaperones may not be responsible for any other
children, other than those in choir.
Can I check out to my parents then check back in to a chaperone group at the end of the day?
NO! Once a student is checked out, he/she is checked out for good. However, your family may walk around with a group. Chaperones are
not allowed to watch students who have already checked out.

Can I check out to a friend’s parents?
NO! Students will not be released to any adult other than a legal guardian.
What do we wear to the park?
You will wear your navy choir t-shirt with jean shorts and tennis shoes. Please liberally apply sunblock before you dress!!!
How much money will my child need in the park?
Your child will not NEED any extra money. However, you may want to send money for snacks, souvenirs, or to play arcade games as well.
Remember, lunch is provided and students should be home by dinner time.
What happens if we change our mind and can’t go to Kemah after all?
Unfortunately, the ride wristband and lunch are date specific, so money cannot be refunded. Your only other option would be to try and sell
the package to another Hubenak parent who did not pre-order tickets.
What happens if I have too many unexcused absences after I have already paid for the trip?
You will not be allowed to go on the trip and money will not be returned. Mrs. Ramsey will be very sad about this!! See above question about
reimbursements. BE CAREFUL with your absences and tardies!! Please review the registration guidelines from the Hubenak Choir website
for the strict policy regarding excused and unexcused absences.
What happens if it rains?
Please pray that we have good weather!! Rain or shine – we are going! The stage is covered and we will take advantage of indoor events if

Will there be any make up rehearsals if I accidentally have too many unexcused absences?
Maybe. I cannot know for sure, so please be very careful about your absences.
What happens if I miss the April 21st evening performance at school?
All performances are required in order to go on the field trips. Students must be present for the evening performance at school in order to go
Can I change my check-out plans at the last minute?
Check out plans may be changed up until Friday, April 22nd. Students may not change their plans the morning of the trip or at
the park. Chaperones should not be put in this position.
When will we get the tickets?
Student and chaperone tickets will stay with the chaperone until it is time to check out. Family tickets will be available for pick up at the
Thursday night concert.
What can I take on the bus?
Students are encouraged to bring only what they can carry in their pockets or plan on leaving on the bus. Students will not be able to go back
and forth from the park to the bus. Valuables will be left on the bus and are not the responsibility of the school or the school district. The trip
is only about 1 hour and you will not want to carry a lot as you go on and off rides, so please take that into consideration before you pack.
