China!!!!!

 1. 1. CHINA!!!!! By: Kelsey Newell
 2. 2. Yin and Yang

This Symbol (Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents "everything", while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called "yin" (black) and "yang" (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other

 3. 3. LUCKEY NUMBERS!!!!!
 4. 4. Chinese Language

Chinese is written with characters which are known as 漢字 [ 汉字 ] (hànzi). The characters were originally pictures of people, animals or other things, but over the centuries they have become increasingly stylised and no longer resemble the things they represent. Many characters have been combined with others to create new ones.

 5. 5. Chinese Geography

The vast land expanses of China include plateaus, plains, basins, foothills, and mountains. Defining rugged plateaus, foothills and mountains as mountainous, they occupy nearly two-thirds of the land, higher in the West and lower in the East like a three-step ladder.

 6. 6. Chinese Silk

It is well known that silk is discovered in China as one of the best materials for clothing - it has a look and feeling of richness that no other materials can match. However, very few people know when or where or how it is discovered. Actually, it could date back to the 30th Century BC when Huang Di (Yellow Emperor) came into power. There are many legends about the discovery of silk; some of them are both romantic and mysterious.

 7. 7. Chinese Festivals

Boasting rich cultural meaning and a long history, traditional Chinese festivals compose an important and brilliant part of Chinese culture.

Most traditional festivals took shape during the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), the first unified and power-centralized dynasty of China.

 8. 8. Medicine

My fellow acupuncturists and I are glad you're here. In the USA everybody knows that acupuncture is a method of health care that involves sticking needles in the patient; usually for back pain or headaches. And everybody has a brother or a sister-in-law or a friend of a friend who's had acupuncture. But Traditional Chinese Medicine can do so much more.

 9. 9. 2008 Beijing Olympics

The last Olympics was in 2008 and it was chosen to be in Beijing

The US set new records in Beijing
