Much have we learned already, but the European Commission's Copernicus program* that aims is building an autonomous, multi-level operational Earth observation capacity, promises to deliver so much more! Copernicus is not only about big data, but also about big opportunities. A fact way to few people know by now. The challenge is to convert big data into big ideas, to get people involved, people with ideas! That includes data experts, but not exclusively. Preparing for Launch means to get everybody on board needed for a successful Datanauts mission. Because without the energy needed, it won't get off the launch pad, let alone reach escape velocity.
