  4. 4. Sales • • • A sale is the act of selling products or services in return for money or other compensation. Sales is, therefore, the most important and critical activity for any business organization. Competent professionals in this field have tremendous job as well growth opportunities. You will become skilled at basic sales processes and their application in various business situations. Your learning will also include sales preparation, lead management as well as effective selling techniques. You will also be trained in the execution of sales process such as negotiations and closing exercises, industry-specific sales techniques and how to maximize the ROI per customer. You will focus on sales potential estimations, channel management, advanced aspects of high probability selling, feedback mechanisms, overall market analysis and Customer Relationship Management. You will also develop skills in managing sales teams along with the ability to effectively implement various sales promotion schemes.

Retail • • • • Retail marketing is comprised of the activities related to selling products directly to consumers through channels such as stores, malls, kiosks, vending machines or other fixed locations. Fast growing urbanization, increased footprint of organized retail format stores and multi activity malls has completely changed the urban landscape and has made Retail one of the fastest growing and high potential professions for youngsters. An estimate puts the organized retail business at $635 billion by 2015. The organized retail sector is now rapidly gaining ground in the vast potential mid & small towns of India. You shall also cover Retail Marketing, Supply Chain Management & Logistics. You will learn the processes required for procurement, merchandising and CRM. You will also develop skills in analyzing and controlling costs. This module will also focus on the importance of cost management in retail marketing, micro financing and retail economics.
  6. 6. Digital Marketing • • • • Digital Marketing is the promotion of brands using all forms of digital advertising channels to reach consumers. This now includes television, radio, Internet, mobile, social media marketing and all other forms of digital media. Digital Marketing is a new and powerful medium. In this specialization, you will focus on new and emerging Digital Media, Search Engines, Search Engine Optimization, Display Advertising, Websites, Mobile Marketing and MCommerce. You will also be given extensive training on Digital branding which will include Online Marketing, usage patterns and Consumer Behavior. You will focus on the use of advanced digital media for marketing, including digital newspapers and directories, DTH, IPTV, Mobile TV and Satellite & Community radio. You will progress to develop an in-depth understanding of the usage of digital technologies in business models with revenue streams. You will also learn convergence processes and ICE (information, communication & entertainment trends) and gain an understanding of legal issues in digital marketing.
  7. 7. Research and Analytics • • • • Marketing research is the systematic gathering, recording and analysis of data about issues relating to marketing products and services. The goal of marketing research is to identify and assess impact of changing elements of marketing mix on customer behaviour. Research & Analytics is very high potential employment opportunity segment in the new business environment. You will learn how to capture data relevant for making business decisions and study techniques of implementing suitable research. You will be introduced to various research methodologies, statistical concepts and quantitative techniques. You will also be introduced to various qualitative methods, data analysis and the use of various analytical tools. You will also be trained to interpret the research data and generate reliable forecasts as well as to apply statistical techniques of data analysis which help in developing effective marketing plans and in making business decisions. The sub-profession shall also cover data analysis and knowledge management, usage of advanced research tools such as SPSS/SAS, research interpretation and communication and the usage of IT in research as well as in decision support systems

Integrated Marketing Communication & Branding • • • • Integrated marketing communication (IMC) is a cross-functional process for creating and nourishing profitable relationships with customers and other stakeholders by strategically controlling or influencing all messages sent to these groups and encouraging data-driven, purposeful dialogue with them. Branding is a complex process, but its goal is simple. It is the creation and development of a specific identity for a company, product, commodity, group or person. Designed to create competent professionals in this sub-profession. The programmes focus on communication, its various medium & creating a communication plan. It covers carrying out activities of brand planning, role of media and different types of media used in creating campaigns. This module will also train you to manage product launches, sales promotions and customer life cycle. You will learn to develop promotional campaigns and build abilities in managing media. You will learn to define media objectives and comprehend concepts of reach and frequency along with media planning, scheduling and buying. You will also develop skills in Event Planning and Management, Public Relations, Sales Promotion and the use of interactive media.
