U.S. Army and Con-way Truckload Partner in RecruitingProgramCeremony at Con-way Truckload Aug. 29JOPLIN, Mo. - August 29, 2012Representatives of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Con-way Truckload, a full truckloadcarrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), will sign an agreement Wednesday, Aug.29 at 10 a.m. CDT to provide priority hiring status to qualified soldiers participating in thePartnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program. The ceremony will take place at Con-wayTruckload’s headquarters at 4701 E. 32nd St. in Joplin.PaYS is a partnership between the Army and a cross-section of U.S. corporations and public sectoragencies. It was developed to help the Army attract, train and conway tracking deploy talentedpeople who want to serve their country and secure future success once their Army service iscomplete.“The U.S. Army is excited to have Con-way Truckload as a partner in the Army PaYS program,”said Lt. Col. Vernon Jakoby, commander of the U.S. Army’s Kansas City Recruiting Battalion.“This is clearly a win-win for both organizations. Con-way will gain employees who havedeveloped professional work habits and who have been held to the highest standards, while oursoldiers gain the opportunity to enter into another great organization where they can add value.”Under terms of the agreement between the Army and Con-way Truckload, enlistees interested ingaining specific job training and qualifications will receive that training during their militaryservice.
