During my career I've had a variety of roles in public and private companies, in government, in military, and in education. I was the CIO for the State of Utah for about two years. I was one of the founders and CTO of iMALL, an early eCommerce company which we sold to Excite@Home in 1999.
I enjoy teaching, writing, and solving problems, but the most fun I've ever had was building and leading a team to build large-scale distributed Web applications. At iMALL, we built a team of engineers, system administrators, and product managers from just a few people in January of 1998 to over 125 in July of 1999.
