2. 2. Introduction

When I have finished my media product I have been asked complete a evaluation to sum up everything throughout this product and what i have done and why I have done it. I thought I would use the following questions as a guideline for my evaluation.

 3. 3. 1. In What ways does your media product develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My Music magazine is very conventional in many different ways. Firstly with my magazine have a genre of “dance” I have a typical background of disco lights which would be found at most night clubs. Also the features of my magazine appeal very much to a particular target audience . Also My music magazine project is a genre of dance. Hence the title “Rave sensation”. I chose this title because raving in the new trend with dance. So it develops the forms of conventions. Also my background of disco lights which represents a typical dance atmosphere.

 4. 4. 2 How does your media product represent particular social groups?.

My media magazine is representing mainly teenage lads who are into to such music as my magazine presents. This music could be music such as

Club land

Disc jockey ( DJ) Music

Fast beat music

Also so my magazine will mainly represent teenagers who love heavy beat music which they can usually dance to.

 5. 5. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Several media institutions would be interested in my magazine. Firstly I think that channels such as club land t.v would be interested. Also club land Cads would be interested. These could also both been used to market my product. Also I think all music magazines would be interested because of competition n the market. Out of these I think the club land circuit would distribute this magazine to get more people interested in this genre of music.

 6. 6. Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for my media music magazine would be mainly 13-19 year olds. This would mainly be males however. Through my research I realised that there is a selection of females in the market who are interested in this kind of music. My audience is a wide range so therefore more chance of selling and as a result a increased chance of been a successful media product.

 7. 7. 5. How did you attract/address your audience?

I used many techniques to attract my audience. Firstly I had interviews with big music names form this music genre such as Darren Styles. Also I used all bright colours on my covers to make it stand out form the rest of the covers on the shelf. Also a typical raving scene on the front cover will attract my audience. Finally free gifts in my magazine may persuade the audience to buy my magazine

 8. 8. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?

Since starting this media product I have learnt many different technological techniques. Firstly I have learnt how to correctly to use macromedia fireworks which before this product I couldn’t. Also I have gained the knowledge how to edit a picture. Also I have learnt different settings on a digital camera and what these settings are used for.

 9. 9. Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

From My first preliminary product I think I have improved in different ways. I think my main progression is with the programme Macromedia Fireworks. I compared my final media product and my Preliminary prodcut and I think the main improvement is the use of Fireworks.
