Midwest Soccer Academy
Experience the “Dutch Touch” with MSA
History of MSA

Founded by Klass De Boer, Midwest Soccer Academy has been running camps since 1973. Since then, MSA has attempted to build its legacy as being the best in soccer education, capitalizing on its Dutch roots and aiming to integrate the Dutch style of soccer into the foundations of youth soccer development in the United States.
This style focuses on the technical and tactical development of players, ensuring that all coaches maintain an age-appropriate, innovative curriculum.
It is because these ideals are firmly rooted in the academy that MSA has become recognized as one of the top coaching specialists in the country.

President - Tony Shard

Originally from Oldham, England, In 2006, Tony Shard took over as President of MSA. As a talented former youth player at Oldham Athletic, Tony had the opportunity of playing with England internationals such as Nicky Butt, David Platt and Paul Scholes.
After his playing career, he went on to gain a Masters in Sports Marketing as well as coaching at the NCAA Division 1 level before moving to the Midwest.
Under his guidance MSA has undertaken a rapid progression, expanding to 24 states from 2 states when he took over. In the Summer of 2009 MSA put on 75 day camps and 5 weeks of residential camps. With over 3.000 children involved, such progress is a massive achievement and means that even more youth soccer players throughout the country are receiving top quality coaching from hand picked, elite MSA staff.

Simon Davey International Technical Director

Simon Davey shot to fame as the manager of Barnsley FC in 2008, when they beat Liverpool and Chelsea on their way to an FA Cup Semi-Final.

Currently MSA's International Technical Director, using his contacts and expertise in soccer to take MSA to a level of training never before reached.
