From gaining grants from the international community to individual agencies and foundations stepping up awareness campaigns, the country is going all out to tackle the disease. South Africa is also a middle- income economy, meaning it has some resources to fund the response initiatives. One of the engagements towards strengthening the healthcare and community systems is a project called Care and Support to Improve Patient Outcomes (CaSIPO), which is the result of work between the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). One of the visions for the project is to ensure an AIDS-free generation, thanks to a shared concern between partner organisations and countries. Oneof the engagements towards strengthening the healthcare and community systems is a project called Care and Support to Improve Patient Outcomes (CaSIPO), which is the result of work between the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa (HPCA) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
