  3. 3. The Mind Fit process is a unique, whole brain approach that is scientifically sound and has been applied successfully for over 15 years. Its origins stem from top sporting performers, business performance coaching and shared experience. It focuses on ‘doing’ rather than ‘learning’ and we expect people to start doing within one working day. This is the opposite to that offered by most organisations who concentrate on knowledge training as the means to change people’s attitude and behaviours. However this frequently produces the wrong outcome. Yes people go on training courses, and that box is ticked, yet quickly return to old habits, with the effect of little or no improvement for the organisation or individual. Yes, the knowledge banks are built up, but is there added personal action and delivery? Mind Fit closes the knowing - doing gaps between what people have learnt but seldom apply, immediately generating a greater return on previous investment. Mind Fit enables the effective use of gained knowledge and the confidence to seek out other gaps that need addressing. If knowledge equated to behaviour surely nobody would smoke! People have to want to change. The same applies in business. Something else is needed. Something that causes people to want to change, to want to improve, to want greater job satisfaction, to want to contribute greater business performance and have a winning mind. People respond more to emotion than logic. The Irish writer James Stevens eloquently describes this as “what the heart knows today the head will understand tomorrow”. Mind Fit taps into the emotion.
