  4. 4. <ul><li>Roles / Responsibilities : </li></ul><ul><li>Work Closely with Board of Trustees </li></ul><ul><li>Consists of 1 x Board Member & 1 x Senior Leadership Team Member; Parent Group Representatives who volunteer from Principal/BoT request for assistance </li></ul><ul><li>Board Policy on Fundraising & Sponsorship to provide the Framework under which the Steering Team has Developed Procedures to Guide Fundraising Initiatives at WMS </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure an Overview of all Fundraising Events Occurring within WMS </li></ul><ul><li>Establish & Maintain a System of Support (Database / Files / Records) </li></ul>Westmere Fundraising Steering Team

Westmere Fundraising Steering Team <ul><li>Roles / Responsibilities Cont. : </li></ul><ul><li>All Fundraising Ideas are Initially presented to the Steering Team </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure Fundraising Plans & Procedures are Drafted and Issued Advising all Fundraisers the Parameters of Operation and Guidance on Seeking Sponsorship </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure all Events/Initiatives are Tracked in School Accounts </li></ul><ul><li>Develop Regular Communication Avenues to Parents & Community through Website & Newsletter </li></ul><ul><li>Work with School Leadership Team & Parentnet to Set Up Yearly Fundraising Timetable – Ensuring Events are Streamlined & Resources NOT Overstretched </li></ul>

Westmere Parentnet <ul><li>Parentnet is a Crucial part of our School : </li></ul><ul><li>The Key Role of this Group : </li></ul><ul><li>To promote and support a positive relationship between home and school </li></ul><ul><li>Welcome new parents to the Class Community </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in Building a Social Network of Care & Support through Community based Fundraising and Social Events </li></ul><ul><li>Parentnet Rep(s) Liaises with the Teacher to keep Parents of the Class Informed of ways they can support the Class Programme </li></ul><ul><li>Manage 2 – 3 Social Events per year – Promoting “A Class Community” e.g., Fish & Chip Nights, Twilight Picnics </li></ul><ul><li>Co-ordinate 5 – 6 small Fundraising Events per Year to Raise $20 – 30,000 to support goals on the Schools Strategic Plan / Annual Development Plan e.g., Disco, Calendars - Athons </li></ul>

Westmere Parentnet <ul><li>Parentnet - November 2010 : </li></ul><ul><li>Proposal : </li></ul><ul><li>To Strengthen the Links and Communication between the Parent Body and the School to ensure Openness & Inclusion of the Whole Community </li></ul><ul><li>How ? : </li></ul><ul><li>At each Parentnet meeting (1 x Term) one Agenda item will be a report from the Board/School on current progress towards meeting Strategic/Annual Goals (summary of key work undertaken by Board/School in recent months) </li></ul><ul><li>Parents may request the School/Board to provide feedback on any item of interest they would like further updates on (1 weeks notice via email) </li></ul><ul><li>A Finalised Agenda will be sent out 2 days prior to the meeting to the whole community </li></ul><ul><li>Minutes of the meeting will be posed on the Website (PIP Page) </li></ul><ul><li>A Weekly email notice will continue to be circulated every Thursday with Events/Notices of Immediate Interest to Parent Community e.g., Requests for Help / Reminders of Key Dates & Upcoming Events </li></ul>

Westmere Parentnet <ul><li>Parentnet - November 2010 : </li></ul><ul><li>How Cont.. : </li></ul><ul><li>The “Board Shorts” (Newsletter) will be emailed to families and posted on School Website (Once a Term Minimum) and the School Newsletter every Fortnight. </li></ul><ul><li>School Website will become the main conduit of Information sharing between Home and School. </li></ul><ul><li>The Principal to use her Professional Blog (linked to the School Website) to provide Information on topics of Interest to the Community (Educationally Related e.g., composite Classes, Key Competencies, E-Learning at WMS) </li></ul><ul><li>Parents in Partnership (PIP) meetings will be more actively used by the Board & School Leadership Team, to obtain Feedback and Input on New Initiatives by Providing a </li></ul><ul><ul><li>“ Taster” on Community Response to a Particular Topic / Event or Initiative </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Further Consultation Processes / Information Sharing can then be Developed from the Initial “Taster,” to get Feedback from the Wider Parent Community </li></ul>
