With a Westerville Public Library card, you have access to the Ohio Digital Library. To begin reading or listening to titles, find your device(s) in these instructions and follow the steps.

eBooks and eAudiobooks from the Ohio Digital Library

  1. 1. To access your Home Menu: • In the top left corner, select this icon: • OR swipe the left edge of your screen. From here, you can: • Borrow titles. • Read or listen to titles. • Change your account settings. eBooks & eAudiobooksfrom the Ohio Digital Library • From your device, go to your App Store. • Search for OverDrive Media Console. (For Windows 8 & 10, search for OverDrive - Library eBooks & Audiobooks.) • Install the app. • Sign in using your Library card number, Facebook account or email address. Apple iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Windows 8 & 10 1 • Select Add a Library. • Search for and select Westerville Public Library or Ohio Digital Library. 2 With a Westerville Public Library card, you have access to the Ohio Digital Library. To begin reading or listening to titles, find your device(s) and follow the steps. See inside for more devices 3 • To borrow a title, select Bookshelf. • Then select Add a Title.   2. 2. • From your computer or device, launch your web browser. • To search for titles, go to ohioebooks.org. 1 For more details, continue to Borrow and Place Holds on Page 4 2 • Select Get library book. • A new window will open. Enter your Amazon.com account email and password. • From the Deliver to menu, choose your device. If your device is not Wi-Fi enabled, choose Transfer via Computer. (If your device does not appear in the list, launch the Kindle app on your device and log in.) 3 If you are connected to Wi-Fi, the title will automatically appear on your device. 4 • To return a title, go back to Manage Your Content and Devices. • Beside the title, select the Actions button andc hoose the Return this book. • On your Kindle, go to the home page. Under Menu, select the the sync option. • If the title shows Loan Expired, highlight it and press the right arrow key. • To delete the title, select Remove from Device. 5 2 Kindle & Kindle App Note: For instructions on the Kindle Fire, see the section on the front of this guide. If you are not connected to Wi-Fi, select Manage Your Content and Devices. • Beside the title, select this button: Actions. • Choose Download & transfer via USB. • From the menu, select your device. • With a USB cable, plug your Kindle into your computer. • Your Kindle will appear as a drive on your computer. Copy the downloaded title from your computer to your Kindle’s documents folder. Stream Movies & TV Choose Subjects, then Videos and start watching!
  3. 3. • Plug your device into your computer. • To authorize, go to Settings. • From the Help menu, choose Authorize Computer. • If you have an Adobe ID, enter it now. • If you don’t have an Adobe ID, select Get an Adobe ID. Then follow the prompts. • From your computer, go to adobe.com/ products/digitaleditions. • Select Download. • Choose your operating system. • Select Save. • Find the file that was saved to your computer. Open and follow the prompts to install Adobe Digital Editions. (Note: This is different from Adobe Reader.) • When finished, launch Adobe Digital Editions. 1 2 MP3 Players 3 4 NOOK, Sony Reader & Others 1 2 3 4 3 From a web browser, go to ohioebooks.org. • Your title will open in Adobe Digital Editions. • Select Bookshelves - All items. • Under the Devices sidebar, drag the title to your device. • Unplug your device and start reading. 6 • To delete a title, plug your device into your computer. • Open Adobe Digital Editions. • From the Devices sidebar, select your device. • Select the title. • Select the white arrow. Choose Delete Item. • From your computer, go to app.overdrive.com. • Select your operating system. • Download the OverDrive Media Console by following the prompts. From a web browser, go to ohioebooks.org. • Open OverDrive Media Console. • To save the title to your computer, select OK. • Once downloaded, plug your MP3 player into your computer. • Select Transfer. • To copy the title to your device, follow the prompts.   4. 4. • If the title is available, select Borrow. • Select Loans or this icon: • To stream, choose Read Now or Listen Now. • To download, Choose a Format. • For most devices, choose EPUB or MP3. Enter keywords. • To browse by subject, collection or audience, select this icon: 5 Limit your results by format, such as book or audiobook.
