  1. 1. ==== ====John Mayer plays a Rick Turner Model 1 on Half Of My ====John Mayer...What kind of guitar does he play?If you said "its a Strat"... In most cases, youre dead on!John plays several different guitars and Ive seen notes on the web stating that he has a couplehundred guitars or more. Poor soul! Can you imagine?Given this thought, I suppose a better answer to "what kind of guitar does John Mayer play" wouldbe:Any ole guitar he wants to play!Every time Ive seen John burning it up, its been on a Fender Stratocaster and from what Iunderstand, they have produced special versions for John himself - not a bad fit for John orFender in my opinion. One thing is for sure. This is all "well and good" but for you more serious "pickers", I highly encourage youto pick up some of his more raw stuff where its just him, a drummer, and a bass player. Hesnothing short of amazing! Here are some other guitars hes used in concert:• Collins Guitars• Novax Guitars Custom (Sweet!)• Cherry Red Gibson• Various Stratocasters (with blues being choked out of them• Martin GuitarsJohn also plays a Martin D-18 large body acoustic as well as an OM-EC Eric Clapton acoustic.
