Spain 2012 summary

  1. Comenius – Move to Improve Your Body and Mind Spain 17th -21st October 2012 – Summary Wednesday 17th October Arrival of Delegates and a short welcome meeting to finalise plans for the visit. Thursday 18th October All delegates visited CEIP San Jose Primary School where we met the staff and children of the school. We had a tour around the school and shared a Spanish breakfast. Each partner country delivered a presentation about their own country and school with the group. Countries shared welcome messages and gifts from the children and shared their initial pieces of project work. A lunch of traditional Spanish Tapas was shared by the group A work meeting was held in Antequera to decide on definite dates for the remaining mobilities. The following dates were agreed on by all partner countries. Italy 23rd - 27th March 2013 Poland 19th - 23rd June 2013 England 13th – 17th November 2013 Turkey 12th – 16th April 2014 Bulgaria 18th – 22nd June 2014 It was also agreed that mobilities would be undertaken by staff not pupils. It was agreed that in addition to the full delegate meeting, we would have a coordinator meeting the following day to discuss next steps. This was followed by a cultural walking tour of Antequera. Friday 19th October All delegates visited CEIP San Jose Primary School where the partners could visit a class of their choosing to watch and participate in PE, Maths or Infant lessons. All partners shared in a Spanish breakfast with the staff from the school. A meeting with all participants was held to discuss ideas for project work for the next parts of the projects. This included ideas for presenting local/national sports teams and players, sending Christmas cards/songs and presentations of keeping fit, healthy and safe. It was decided that the presentation of local/national sports teams/players would be sent to partner countries by the end of November 2012. It was decided that each partner school would record a seasonal song (with sheet music if possible) and send Christmas cards/messages by the second week in December 2012. The project work relating to advice on how to keep fit, healthy and safe would be shared at the next project meeting in Italy. Afternoon visits to the local Bandit museum, olive oil factory and walking tour of Palenciana, including a visit to the town hall and a meeting with the mayor.

Later, at the coordinator meeting a website was designed www.movetoimprove.jimdo.com Logins and passwords were set for all partners We agreed on a whole project logo and decided that each partner country would have its own project logo too. The website would be tested over the next few weeks. A formal dinner was held with staff from CEIP San Jose Primary School and partners followed by an evening of flamenco dancing. Saturday 20th October All delegates attended a cultural trip to Cordoba including a walking tour, visit to Madinat Al-zahra, historical centre of Cordoba and lunch in a typical Spanish restaurant.
