Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world.
“Thanksgiving to God: A Way of Living”
Psalm 100 and 150
For a follower of Jesus Christ, Thanksgiving is a Way of Living!
1. Thanksgiving begins with worshiping and praising God with all your
heart, soul, strength, and mind!
Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with
celebration! Come before him with shouts of joy! (Psalm 100:1-2)
2. Thanksgiving is a faithful confession that God is the source of all
that is GOOD and ALL that we have!
Know that the Lord is God—he made us; we belong to him. We are his
people, the sheep of his own pasture . . . Because the Lord is good . . .
3. Thanksgiving declares that God's love is UNCONDITIONAL . . . it
. . . His loyal love lasts forever (Psalm 100:5)
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life. God didn’t send
his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be
saved through him. (John 3:16-17)
4. Thanksgiving proclaims that God's FAITHFULNESS continues
. . . his faithfulness lasts generation after generation (Psalm 100:5)
Certainly the faithful love of the LORD hasn’t ended; certainly God’s
compassion isn’t through! They are renewed every morning. Great is
your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary!
Praise God in his fortress, the sky!
Praise God in his mighty acts!
Praise God as suits his incredible greatness!
Praise God with the blast of the ram’s horn!
Praise God with lute and lyre!
Praise God with drum and dance!
Praise God with strings and pipe!
Praise God with loud cymbals!
Praise God with clashing cymbals!
Let every living thing praise the Lord!

"Finding Bethlehem in the
Midst of Bedlam"
The Open Door Class invites you to join us at 9:00 AM this
Sunday, November 24 as we take time to reflect on the
true meaning of Christmas with a 5-week Advent study.
Christmas or confusion, Bethlehem or bedlam . . .
Which will you choose this year? The truth is, we
don’t have to choose, because Christmas always happens
right in the midst of our confusion. God breaks into our confusion and is
made known in Jesus Christ.
That’s what this study is about––how Christ breaks into our chaos and
confusion and brings Christmas––how Bethlehem always happens in the
midst of bedlam.
This thematic Advent study for 2013 has five sessions. Each chapter
includes questions for reflection and discussion, a brief prayer, a focus
for the week, and six daily Bible readings for personal devotional time
during the week.
All are welcome. Books are $10. Contact Don Morgan at
email@example.com to order.
