  2. 2. The media was fertilized and inoculated with Phaeodactylum sp. 8 AM

  5. 5. The algae harvested after 32 hrs by 6 PM next day. Dry paste of > 10 Kg obtained from three 10 m2 tanks.
  6. 6. Dry algae biomass (< 10% moisture) of 1.5 Kg from 30 m2 area. 25 g/m2/day. The production cost found to be less than Rs.4 (US$ 0.087) per Kg of algae biomass. The lipid content of the biomass is estimated as 20 %. The trials were repeated several times and the production figures were consistent with insignificant variations.
