  1. 1. Once upon a timethere was a man and awoman.They had adaughter beautiful asaflower.Unfortunatelythe mother died andthe father got marriedagain.The stepmother hadan own daughter andhated herstepdaughter.
  2. 2. One day the womantold her husband shedidnt want hisdaughter in the houseanymore.She madehim take his childaway from home.The father went to theforest together withhis daughter and whenthey reached a hill hethrew a round breaddown the path andasked the girl tofollow it.
  3. 3. Poor girl ranafter the breadand got lost.After a while shegot to a house,knocked and gotin. She did notknow it was awitch’s house.
  4. 4. In the morning thegirl got up early,cleaned and fedthe witch’s pets –snakes and bats.Theold lady gave herlots of taskswhich she completed
  5. 5. As an award shetook the girl to amagic river whichhad changed itscolour and whenthe water becameyellow she put thegirl in it.Shebecame golden andbrought out a chest
  6. 6. Then the witchshowed the girlthe way backhome .Her fatherwas so happybut the stepmothergot jealous andwanted her girl tohave gold too.
  7. 7. Everything repeated,but the second girlwasnt ashardworking as thefirst one.Thats why the oldlady punishedher.When the waterin the river becameblack she put thechild in and the girlbecame as black asthe devil.
  8. 8. After some time theprince sent people tobring him the goldgirl for a wife.The stepmotherexchanged the twogirls.It wasnt long beforethe lie wasdiscovered.The golden girlmarried the princeand they livedhappily ever after.
  9. 9. “ The Golden girl “ is just one ofthe many tales in Bulgarian folklorewhich are inspired by the water andits rejuvenating power.The pupils from 3 grade performed itin the school theatre and invitedchildren from nearest kindergartensand local people .
