Yeoman Shield helps special youngsters
to get on the crest of a wave
When Riverside School in Orpington wanted an uplifting entrance it turned to Yeoman Shield, market
leaders in wall and door protection, and the company came up with an ‘eye catching' wave design for
the main corridor of the school.
Riverside is a special school with 205 pupils who have severe or profound learning difficulties and
many pupils are on the autistic spectrum.
‘The Wave' from Yeoman Shield is cut and shaped from impact resistant Yeoman Shield 2.0mm thick
wall panels, supplied with a light relief ‘FalmouthEx' finish which effectively obscures abrasions. It
provides customers with added choice and flexibility, being available in a choice of single and double
shaped waves, various sizes and 34 colours.
"Bearing in mind the name of the school, we thought having a wave design was an excellent idea,"
explained school site manager, Maurice Perry.
He added: "The children love it and the wall protection is proving to be an effective way of protecting
the busy main corridor of the school from bangs and scuffs. We are very pleased with the end result
and plan to use Yeoman Shield on future projects."
