Makersbeweging
Makers brengen de DIY-beweging naar het web - “het publieke
maken” - wat leidt tot grootschalige netwerkeffecten
Er is sprake van een gedeelde waarde om deze ontwerpen online te delen en
met anderen samen te werken
Het gebruiken van standaard ontwerpbestanden stelt iedereen in staat de
ontwerpen door (commerciële) derden te laten produceren, of dit zelf te
doen, thuis of in een FabLab/makerspace
Er wordt gebruik gemaakt van digitale computertools om nieuwe ontwerpen
en prototypes te maken (“digital DIY”)

Stellen individuele makers in staat om gebruik te maken van
gedeelde voorzieningen;
Zijn plekken waar ervaren makers hun kennis overbrengen en waar nieuwe
makers begeleid worden;
Maken het delen van ideeën en ontwerpen mogelijk, ook voor de
buitenwereld;
Stellen makers in staat om met elkaar samen te werken door meerdere
perspectieven en vaardigheden samen te brengen;
Motiveren makers om te experimenten en te ontdekken door te klooien met
technologie en gereedschappen en brengen het spelelement in het maakproces.

Bibliotheekmakerspace?
Makerspaces en FabLabs zijn creatieve DIY-plekken waar mensen samenkomen
om te maken, uit te vinden en te leren. In bibliotheken bestaat het aanbod vaak
uit 3D printers, ontwerp- en programmeersoftware, elektronica en wordt
gefaciliteerd op het terrein van hardware, gereedschappen en meer.
