  2. 2. Ignite the minds of youth to build a developed nationNation’s growth and development depend on how fast the Academia, Business and Communityin that nation will get transformed. This transformation happens when millions of passionateleaders work with unshakable determination to achieve the common goals in their areas ofwork.Leaders are not only born but can also be developed. A Leadership movement is required ineach nation to develop the young students into leaders. It is very imperative to inspire,motivate and influence the students in the age group of 12 – 22 years to understand andpractice leadership at the early age.The leader should be visionary, team player, execution champion, volunteer leader, continuouslearner and communicator. The students need to understand and acquire these leadershipcharacteristics before they start their career.Two types of young Leaders, would play a significant role in shaping the nation 1) IndustryReady Leaders and 2) Nation Ready Leaders. Nations have to put extraordinary effort formaking Leadership, a way of life.International Student Leadership Day, 03-FebruraryStudent Leadership Advocacy and Outreach programs have to be conducted in all nations tobring in the awareness on value of Leadership. International Student Leadership day is the‘Leadership Festival’ which would be celebrated by all nations on 03-February of every year.This day aims at creating interest and awareness on Leadership to the students in the agegroup of 12 – 22 years.1. We need exclusive one day/per year to create interest to Students for practicing Leadership.2. We need exclusive one day/per year to bring in awareness to Students on the value of Leadership.3. We need exclusive one day/per year to think and plan for future direction of children, and students without mixing up with the past and present issues.4. We need exclusive one day/year to recognize and reward the future leaders in the age group of 12 -22 years.5. We need exclusive one day/year to promote Student Citizenship Culture.6. We need exclusive one day/year to educate the students on their role to take their nation into the league of developed and beyond developed Nation.International Student Leadership Day, ProposedEvents:Any one (or) combination of the following proposed events could be celebrated on the occasionof International Student Leadership Day to be held on 03-Feb of every year. It is not mandatorythat the celebration is limited only to the following events. Any event which would help inpositively influence, motivate and inspire the students to practice leadership is encouraged. 1. Taking Leadership Pledge: All students could take Leadership Pledge on 03-Feb of every year (refer Appendix A).2
  3. 3. 2. Conduct Leadership Run/Leadership Parade/Leadership Marathon: Run/Parade/Marathon to demonstrate the spirit of Leadership (with national flags and other relevant banners) 3. Conduct Special Leadership Conferences/Events: Special Leadership events by Academia, in association with Industry and Government. 4. Enable Students to set their Vision: Dedicated effort by Parents and teachers to set the direction/Vision for shaping the future of their children. 5. Build Industry, Government, and Academia Consortiums: MOUs, Agreements to form forums, consortiums of Industry, Academia and Government for advocating Leadership Culture. 6. Recognize Academic Institutes: Recognition of Best Academic Institutes, which promotes Leadership culture. 7. Recognize All round Performing Students: Recognition of all round performing students by Industry and Government. 8. Exchange Greetings: Global Student Leaders Networking and Greetings and celebrate the International Student Leadership Day as a festival. 9. Conduct Debates and Discussions in Media: Debates and discussions on importance of advocating Leadership culture into the minds of students in the age group of 12- 22 Years. 10. Conduct Idea Exchanging Events: Create forums for the students to share their Innovative and new ideas with Industry and other students. 11. Adopt a future Leader: Each senior Industry or Nation leader adopt a student to transform into a Leader. Students in the age group of 12 – 22 years have to ignite their minds by practicing leadership. Students should prepare for future and they have to mould their minds to deliver extraordinary results during 35+years of their future career. Each and every student in the world has to create an individual Vision Statement as per his/her aspirations and has to passionately work towards realizing that vision. We need exclusive one day in a year to inspire, motivate and influence the students to practice leadership. This one day inspiration has to provide the fuel for students to passionately practice Leadership for remaining 364 days of that year! In this endeavor, PMI Pearl City Chapter has announced about International Student Leadership Day (ISLD). Every year on 03-February, students, parents and teachers all over the world celebrate this day as ‘Student Leadership Festival’. V.
