    1. 1. Welcome to Keyboarding Pro DELUXE ® Get Started Create Your Student Record The Main Menu Send Files Export and Exit Log in After the First Time
    2. 2. Getting Started & Creating Student Record <ul><li>Install the software </li></ul><ul><li>Click New User on Log In dialog box </li></ul><ul><li>New Student dialog box displays </li></ul>Click New User

New Student Dialog Box <ul><li>Complete all fields </li></ul><ul><li>Web Reporter : Copy and paste the Class Code (See next slide.) </li></ul><ul><li>Click the Print Screen key and save your user information in a safe place. </li></ul><ul><li>Use keying as your password (I can’t keep up with a different password per student) </li></ul><ul><li>Enter your email address (to use your Southwest email address, use your Southwest user name followed by @students.southwest.tn.edu) </li></ul>Use “keying” as your Password

Directions to Copy and Paste Class Code <ul><li>Locate the Class Code provided by your instructor. </li></ul><ul><li>Select the Class Code (double-click it or drag your mouse through it until you have it selected) </li></ul><ul><li>Press CTRL + C to copy the Class Code </li></ul><ul><li>At Class Code of the New Student dialog box, press CTRL + V to paste the Class Code </li></ul>
    5. 5. Saving to a Flash Drive <ul><li>To save your student record to a flash drive instead of the hard drive, click the folder icon and browse to the drive where your flash drive is located . </li></ul>
    6. 6. Save Student Information <ul><li>Click Print Screen key and save information entered in the Student Record to a safe location. </li></ul><ul><li>Student information required in order to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Locate on-line student record should ever have to replace your computer or lose your flash drive during the course. (See next screen.) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Have password displayed. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Access the Web Reporter to view instructor comments. </li></ul></ul>
    7. 7. Web Reporter Users: Student ID <ul><li>Once you complete the New Student information, you will receive a Student ID </li></ul><ul><li>You will want to print this information </li></ul><ul><li>Click OK </li></ul>
    8. 8. Web Reporter: Student ID and Class Code <ul><li>To display within the program, click Options, then View ID from the Main menu toolbar. Print and keep this with the information entered in the student record. </li></ul>
    9. 9. Forgot Password <ul><li>From the Log in dialog box, click Forgot password. </li></ul><ul><li>Security question, answer, and student email address must match the original information entered in the student record. </li></ul><ul><li>Password will display. </li></ul>
    10. 10. Skill Analysis <ul><li>Your instructor may require you to take the Skill Analysis timed writing. (optional) </li></ul>

    18. 18. Send Files to Web Reporter <ul><li>Click Send File from either the Lesson menu or the Main menu. Student record transfers automatically. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Documents created in the Word Processor must be attached; click Attach and choose .kos files. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Word 2007 documents will transfer if you are connected to the Internet as you are working and; if you are not working online, click Attach and attach documents just completed or not sent. </li></ul></ul>

    20. 20. 3 Steps to Exit the Software <ul><li>To log out, click Yes. </li></ul><ul><li>Should I send my student record to the Web Reporter? </li></ul><ul><li>Yes, even if you have already sent it, answer Yes as a backup procedure. </li></ul>
    21. 21. 3 Steps to Exit the Software (cont.) <ul><li>Should I export my student record? </li></ul><ul><li>(To decide, continue to the next slide.) </li></ul>
    22. 22. Should I Export My Student Record? <ul><li>Export transfers your student record from the hard drive or server to your flash drive (portable device). </li></ul><ul><li>Click Yes if your most recent work is on the hard drive and you need to transfer your record to a flash drive (to use at home, for example). </li></ul><ul><li>If you are working only from a flash drive , respond No--do not export your student record. Your file is already there. </li></ul>
    23. 23. Export Student Record <ul><li>Export transfers the student record from a hard drive or server to the student’s flash drive. </li></ul><ul><li>Browse to locate your flash drive. </li></ul>Browse

Logging in After the First Time <ul><li>Select your name from the Log In dialog box. </li></ul><ul><li>If you are using a flash drive, browse to the flash drive and click on the folder with your name. </li></ul><ul><li>Enter your password. </li></ul><ul><li>Decide whether to import your student record. (See next slide) </li></ul>
    25. 25. Should I Import my Student Record? <ul><li>Import your data file if you want to transfer your student record from the flash drive to the hard drive/server. Browse to locate the flash drive. </li></ul><ul><li>If you always and only saving to the flash drive, respond No to this prompt. </li></ul>
    26. 26. What If I Must Transfer My Student Record to a New Computer? <ul><li>Locate on-line student : This feature enables you to download your student record from the Web Reporter to a new computer. </li></ul><ul><li>From the Log in dialog box, click Locate on-line student. </li></ul><ul><li>Copy and paste or enter information exactly as it appears in your student record. Your student record will be downloaded. </li></ul>
