Silicon influence on plants 3  The presence of silicon in the soil increases digestibility of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, effect on growth and exchange processes.  Silicon forms the plant resistance to temperature changes, to radiation, toxic substances, fungal diseases, damage by pests.  The first scientific and practical results of application siliceous fertilizers shows the effect siliceous fertilizers on the yield of sugar beet with different schemes application in low- moisture Russian steppe.  Growth productivity ranges: 2.2 -5.5 t / ha or 5.5 - 13.8% in comparison with the control. Also, there is an increase of sugar content in root crops by 0.5-0.8%
