  1. 1. The shell-free egg or how to remove the shell of an unboiled egg <ul><li>The idea is to use vinegar (acetic acid) to dissolve the calcium carbonate crystals that make the egg (just like vinegar can be used to remove hard water deposits) </li></ul>
  2. 2. <ul><li>Put an egg in a glass of vinegar </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Preferably a cheap wine vinegar </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Let it there for 3 days </li></ul><ul><ul><li>you can remove the foam that will appear and fill up the glass as the level of vinegar decreases </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It will not stink or produce anything unpleasant </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Take it with care and pass it under water. </li></ul><ul><li>The shell will be no more than a thin whitish pellicle that you can take away rubbing gently the egg. </li></ul>
