Some Statistics• Site launched in May of 2003• Stock went public in May ‘11 and the price more than doubles• LinkedIn is the #1 social networking site for professionals (as of 8/4/11)• Over 120 million members worldwide – joining at a rate faster than two new members per second• 75 of the Fortune 100 companies use LinkedIn as part of their hiring solution

  4. 4. You’ll receive two emails; 1 in the LinkedIn inbox & 1 in personal emailName Subject Date Take some time to think about why you are requesting a connection and write a brief personal note to ensure more responses.
  5. 5. III. Asking for recommendationsStep 1 provides adropdown list of yourjobs.In Step 2, type thename(s) of yourconnections. So addthese first BEFOREasking for recos.Step 3 is the messagearea. Make it good!
  6. 6. IV. Using the search featureAdvanced search offers filters for:Relationship, Groups, Seniority Level, Interests, Language, Years ofExperience, Recently Joined, Company Size, Job Function, and Industry.

  9. 9. 1) You can ask questions on a range of topics from Administration to Using LinkedIn. 2) Also, you can browse or search for questions that have already been answered. 3) As people in your network ask questions, they will show up on the next page.
