16. 16.

The new Paradigm of Islam

The paradigm of ordinary human beings / public interest

The paradigm defined by ordinary Muslims

1.2 billion Muslims who seek ‘Allah’s purpose every day’ ( Ar Rehman)

Ordinary Muslims are the inheritors of Islam not mullahs or theocrats or khalifahs. We are the true heirs. It is up to us to wrest our ‘virasat’ back.

 17. 17.

Islam is not a religion but an ideology able to self evolve. Message of Islam is for all humans

The core principle is that Allah has created all humans equal and free in all respects

Allah has taught and commanded knowledge as the most fundamental and primary vehicle for human growth and ordained the use of ‘ akal’ ( the faculty to reason)

 18. 18.

Allah has given humans complete independence in all matters of the world, from choice of belief to practice of one’s life on the basis of do-no-harm as the first principle

Allah has made Humans Khilaf ul Araz not Muslims

 19. 19.

Why The need for new Paradigm

The Muslim need

The Human need

The Global need

 20. 20.

Defining Moment for Pakistan

For us, it is time now to define Pakistan as the rationalist state of Muslims inhabited by humans of different origins, race and colour.

A state that leads the new beginnings of Islam and the world;

 21. 21.

A progressive post-modern nation state that spearheads the development of Muslim commonwealth, and human commonwealth

and helps make humanity ready for the existential challenges that face human beings in the 21st century.

 22. 22.

Why Pakistan ?

To answer global challenges, one needs

global framework.

A framework can only be provided by an organisation

of some kind.

The largest form of organisation that can address

global issues and provide such a framework is ‘State’.

Pakistan is a state that can potentially perform the task

of putting forward a global framework to challenges

faced by humanity.

 23. 23.

So What is Pakistan ?

A theocratic state ?

A secular state ?

A Muslim state defined by the ‘Human

Paradigm’ of Islam

 24. 24.

Can Pakistan Provide solutions and

meaningful response to the challenges

faced by Humanity in the 21 st century.

If yes ? How ?

What is the fundamental most need of the hour?

Why has it failed so far ?

 25. 25.

Why has Pakistan failed to build the dream?

Because we have lacked the intellectuals with the vision; and a few we have or had the vision, have lacked the courage to stand up for it or have got embroiled in irrelevant issues and lost focus.

Pakistan more than being the failure of politicians, military or bureaucracy has been the failure of intellectuals (including judiciary).

 26. 26.

What is the fundamental most need of the hour?

The answer is staring us in the face.

Now when the Muslim consciousness is just about

ready, we are under attack again by external

players. Coincidental ? Intentional ?

 27. 27.

The onus is on Muslim Intellectuals to

1. Stop the slide into introversion of the present paradigm; and

2. Develop the rational human paradigm of Islam , beginning form the original, for Pakistan, Muslim Ummah and the World.

 28. 28.

THE TASK

To provide a framework of new paradigm, by

working on establishment of Allah’s discourse in

Islam (and starting afresh from Prophet's paradigm)

that guarantees

Equality and Freedom

Education and Justice

Rationality and Technology

 29. 29.

The result will be a state that is politically,

socially, economically developed and leads

the world in providing intellectual answers to

the questions of these times .

A state that becomes exemplary for the rest of

the World in how it practices its politics,

economy, in what its social and ethical norms are

and in how it deals with the commonwealth of

whole humanity.

 30. 30.

Is it possible ?

Some may consider it utopian.

Limits exist in one’s mind only.

Every journey begins with the first small step.

Being ‘Barish ka pehla katra’ is the most difficult.

 31. 31.

How can the new intellectual framework achieve a new Pakistan ?

How nations, states, countries develop and change ?

To develop and change a country needs a core of human capital with solid will to provide an intellectual ideological framework; commitment to work for the policies based on this framework; and a strategy and plan of action how to implement those policies.
