KP mobile container units can be rapidly deployed to water stressed localities to generate potable water from contaminated local sources or from ocean water in coastal communities. <br />

The units can produce fresh water from a variety of raw water sources such as wells, lakes, seas, lagoons, rivers, and oceans. During Emergency: <br />- Haiti earth quake devastated the whole country, including its water utility. The country has no fresh water source and it requires temporary desalination while the government repair its water infrastructure.<br />2. Interim: <br />- Maintenance / shut down / drought due to climate change:.<br /> - Several water utility plants require maintenance without water supply interruptions. <br /> - Industrial companies such as petrochemicals, nuclear plants and steel cannot afford with out water in their operations. <br /> - Consumer companies such as pharmaceuticals, food & beverage could not afford with out water. Hospitality, construction and utility provider such as district cooling uses fresh water.<br />3. Long-term project: <br />. Unlike permanent desalination plants, temporary mobile units can be commissioned, installed and put into production in a short period of time. Treatment processes control certain chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of water, such as salinity, hardness or unpleasant taste. Hence, the function of these units is to treat available water sources to make the water safe for human consumption.<br />

  62. 62. Water softener<br />Water softening is the reduction of the concentration of calcium, magnesium, and other ions in hard water. These "hardness ions" can cause a variety of undesired effects including interfering with the action of soaps, the build up of scale, which can foul plumbing, and galvanic corrosion. Conventional water-softening appliances intended for household use depend on an ion-exchange resin in which hardness ions are exchanged, that is, trade places with, sodium ions. Water softening may be desirable where the source of water is hard. However, hard water also conveys some benefits to health by providing dietary calcium and magnesium and reducing the solubility of potentially toxic metal ions such as lead and copper<br />
