  1. 1. An event can be described as a public assembly for the purpose of celebration, education, marketing or reunion. Events can be classified on the basis of their size, type and context

  3. 3.  Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of festivals, cultural events, meetings, trade shows, social events and conferences.
  4. 4. Recession free industry  Event management is a multi billion dollar industry, growing rapidly.  Event management is one of the fastest growing professions today. 
  5. 5.        The role of an event manager basically involves doing: All the running around Booking the venue Identifying the target audience Devising the event concept Arranging the catering and entertainment as well as all of the other ancillary services required to make the event run to their complete satisfaction They will also attend the event to ensure everything goes to plan
