Smart parking

  1. 1. IndIa VIsIon 2020 "TransformIng The naTIon InTo a deVeloped counTry” REVOLUTIONS Actions Speak Louder Than Words
  2. 2. parKIng Why Smart Parking System? •The growing population of India has created many problems, •one of the challenging ones being car parking which we confront almost every day. •Besides the problem of space for cars moving on the road , greater is the problem of space for a parked vehicle considering that private vehicles remain parked for most of their time. •Roads are being built for cars to ply but are we also giving the vehicles enough space to park? •Parking is one of the major problems that is created by the increasing road track. •It is an impact of transport development. The availability of less space in urban areas has increased the demand for parking space especially in areas like Central business district.
  3. 3. Parking has some effects like congestion, accidents, pollution, obstruction to fire-fighting operations etc Congestion Parking takes considerable street space leading to the lowering of the road capacity. Hence, speed will be reduced, journey time and delay will also subsequently increase. The operational cost of the vehicle increases leading to great economical loss to the community. Accidents Careless maneuvering of parking and unparking leads to accidents which are referred to as parking accidents. Common type of parking accidents occur while driving out a car from the parking area, careless opening of the doors of parked cars, and while bringing in the vehicle to the parking lot for parking. Environmental pollution They also cause pollution to the environment because stopping and starting of vehicles while parking and unparking results in noise and fumes. They also aced the aesthetic beauty of the buildings because a car parked at every available space creates a feeling that building rises from a plinth of cars. Obstruction to firefighting operations Parked vehicles may obstruct the movement of firefighting vehicles. Sometimes they block access to hydrants and access to buildings.
  4. 4. Automatic multistoried car parking system helps to minimize the parking area. In the modern world where parking space has become a very big problem, it has become very important to avoid the wastage of space in modern big companies and apartments etc. in places where more than 100 cars need to be parked, this system proves to be useful in reducing wastage of space. This automatic car parking system enables the parking of vehicles, floor after floor and thus reducing the space used. Here any number of cars can be parked according to the requirement. These makes the system modernized and thus space- saving one.
  5. 5. There are no traffic rules in India (most of the time) All the cities in India face severe parking problems. Though parking has negligible effect on quality of transport but there is damage to the life of engine due to parking. Due to anonymous increase of traffic in India,  parking has become the new problem along with pollution and poor quality roads.  Parking regulation in the US  Parking is restricted or prohibited in many streets. Most cities are divided into parking zones, which may be indicated by colours.  In some towns there are parking regulations during rush-hours on major thoroughfares, where no parking is permitted on one or both sides of the street at certain times Indian City Traffic Developed city traffic
  6. 6. There are two types of parking’s, they are off-street parking and the other is on-street parking.  Off street parking is common in big shopping malls and theatres and huge offices which are used by employees & customers Indian City Traffic Developed city traffic They use An automated (car) parking system (Advanced system) Advanced parking systems
  7. 7. The causes for parking scarcity are due to few misbelieves such as –  Parking is public property  Short term solutions for long term problems that is by taking temporary actions
  8. 8. IndIan ParkIng Indian Peoples Parking Mentality  it should be change
  9. 9.  develoPment should requIerd Changes Can PossIBle BY taken rIsk We should sYstematIC It WIll more Pleasant & lookIng realY smart
  10. 10. Why does it seem like some Indians have absolute disrespect for traffic laws and other minor violations? Traffic: wrong lane, wrong side, traffic light ignorance, speed violations, drunken driving - there are no official figures Real estate: black money, illegal construction, encroachment of public and private property Behavior: rowdy with women, relieving on the roadside in the open, spitting chewed beetel (paan)
  11. 11. u.s. ParkIng and roads If they can do it ,so why can’t we! Why Indian mentality couldn’t accept for revolutions Here it is because they use systematic & proper parking systems Change thinking change world
  12. 12. Conventional parking & limitations :- Conventional parking need a lot space To get Space for parking is hard to easily available Its complicated to park or find exactly where we park car or vehicle Most of peoples avoid to park car at parking Space limitations Minimum space 1000sq ft It contain at least 50 or 80 cars Parking use on open ground so mostly large open ground space required Manually car parking Damage may occurs
  13. 13. NEED & BENIFITE of smart parking travelers are unaware Reduction in time spent  reduced driver frustration Reduction in congestion Elimination of queues Better distribution of flow and parking revenues and profitability Parking space shortage Reduce No parking Eliminate open road parking Make India clean and smart
  16. 16. The Multi-Parking system sometimes referred to as Rack and Rail type has been designed to automatically move the vehicles by lift which then transfers it to a waiting cart on one of the multi- levels. The carts then travel horizontally and place the vehicle in its appropriate slot. This system is suitable for middle and large-scale buildings as well as independent public parking garage. The multi-parker can accommodate as little as 20 vehicles to several thousand units. It is therefore suitable for large scale projects. It can move more than 2 vehicles at the same time for maximum efficiency.
  17. 17. The elevator type often called the Parking Tower, is designed to automatically move the vehicles on a pallet vertically on the elevator, it then transfers it horizontally left or right for storage. Very fast retrieval time is accomplished in less than two minutes. This system is suitable for medium or large scale buildings. It can also be used as a stand alone tower for a parking garage business. Since it is controlled by an integrated computer system, the overall operation can be viewed with one screen and its operation is very user friendly.  We incorporate German motors and components, which are used in every system by world known SEW Eurodrive
  18. 18. An automated (car) parking system is a mechanical system designed to minimize the area and/or volume required for parking cars. an APS provides parking for cars on multiple levels stacked vertically to maximize the number of parking spaces while minimizing land usage. The APS, however, utilizes a mechanical system to transport cars to and from parking spaces (rather than the driver) in order to eliminate much of the space wasted in a multi-story parking garage While a multi- story parking garage is similar to multiple parking lots stacked vertically
  19. 19. Key Findings Drivers want to know: • the location of car park nearby • how to reduce waiting time for car park during holidays or peak parking hours • how to enter the target car park without stuck in traffic congestion • comparison of parking fees of every car park • the length , width , height and ground condition of parking space • discounts or special benefits. Example : Some shopping malls waive the parking fees when consumers’ purchases reach the required amount. Sample Survey on Drivers Needs
  20. 20. • By applying automatic/vertical type car park technology as the floor of the parking lot to form lines • The purpose is to increase or decrease number of cars in the parking lot • Together with parking space assignment system to guide and control parking traffic • Ability to change for emergency vehicles to pass through and create additional work space • Consume space and time for parking How it works
  21. 21. All APS take advantage of a common concept to decrease the area of parking spaces. The car is park or moved automatically or semi-automatically (with some attendant action required) to its parking space. The space saving provided by the APS, compared to the multi-story parking garage,is derived primarily from a significant reduction in space not directly related to the parking of the car: Parking space width and depth (and distances between parking spaces) are dramatically reduced since no allowance need be made for driving the car into the parking space or for the opening of car doors (for drivers and passengers) No driving lanes or ramps are needed to drive the car to/from the entrance/exit to a parking space Ceiling height is minimized since there is no pedestrian traffic (drivers and passengers) in the parking area, and No walkways, stairways or elevators are needed to accommodate pedestrians in the parking area. With the elimination of ramps, driving lanes, pedestrians and the reduction in ceiling heights
  22. 22. In addition to the space saving: The parked cars and their contents are more secure since there is no public access to parked cars Minor parking lot damage such as scrapes and dents are eliminated Drivers and passengers are safer not having to walk through parking lots or garages Driving around in search of a parking space is eliminated, thereby reducing engine emissions The volume and visual impact of the parking structure is minimized Shorter construction time
  23. 23. Advance parking rules and regulations Parking Lot charge and service • Pre-booking parking space (daily/monthly) • Check availability of parking spots nearby • Application platforms – smart phone, e-mail, SMS • Computerize parking • Safety of vehicles , cleaning , servicing or maintaining (charge apply*) • One day charge 30-50 rupees per park • 10-20 rupees per hour charge per park • Strictly restriction to park vehicle at main road or city road else 1000rs will punished (tie with government )
  24. 24. A greener and nicer living environment • More energy saving and zero pollution • City beautification • Improve traffic congestion • Better road safety • Innovation and creativity through utilization of advanced technology. Value Created for the Community
  25. 25.  Space :  One parking building have 4-5 floor each floor have capacity of 20-30 vehicles :  80 -100 vehicles can containing in 4-5 floor building ,where minimum space required for construct building may be 100-200sqm  conventional open ground parking should have more space may be 1000-1500sqm for park 100 cars or vehicles can park only  Charge (financial benefit annual only*)  One parking 30-50 rupees then how much for 80-100 vehicles per day =4000 or 5000 rupees  For annual benefits nearby =48000 or 50000  this for one parking only  Online booking apps benefits *  Parking may made 10-15 in one city  For make smart India whole city must required smart parking  Minimum number of city in India 100 or 150 approximately  Each city 15 parking 150X15=2250 parking  5000x2250= 11250000 rupees annual turnover + apps benefits = 11250000-12250000
