2. Trained as an osteopath, Vinson DiSanto, DO,
PhD, CCN, CAFCI holds additional certifications
as a doctor of acupuncture, homeopathic
medicine, ayurvedic, and laser therapy. Dr.
Vinson DiSanto completed studies in
sonopuncture therapy and uses the treatment in
his practice.
3. Sonopuncture uses a narrow, cylindrical high-
frequency beam of sound instead of needles, on
traditional acupuncture points. The therapy is also
known as Acutonics, sound healing, or
phonophoresis. Using principles found in
traditional Chinese medicine, sonopuncture is
non-invasive, gentle, and a good alternative for
those who may be sensitive to other treatments or
have a phobia of needles. It is also appropriate
when treating pediatric cases or the elderly.
4. While the high frequency beam of sound is too
high-pitched to be audible to the human ear, this
ultrasound has proven effective when utilized to
treat infection, varicose veins, bronchial asthma,
and enlarged prostate. It is also used successfully
to rejuvenate skin, help fractured bones heal, and
treat dental problems.
