Biomass gassfier presentation

  1. 1. ECO POWERGENERATION
  2. 2. Biomass• Biomass is organic material, which has stored solar energy from sunlight in the form of chemical in the plants through the process called photosynthesis.
  3. 3. Biomass Gasification Fuel
  4. 4. Biomass Gasification• Biomass Gasification converts solid biomass into more convenient gaseous form.• Biomass does not add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as it absorbs the same amount of carbon while growing. It is the cheapest, eco-friendly, renewable source of energy.
  5. 5. Biomass Gasification• A biomass gasifier system mainly comprises of a reactor, where the combustible gas is generated and the gas is made available for power generation / thermal application after the required cleaning and cooling process.
  6. 6. Biomass Gasification
  7. 7. Biomass Gasification• The biomass is converted into a mixture of gases through a thermo-chemical reaction called Producer gas, which is combustible having a calorific value of 4.5-5.0 MJ/kg, with an average composition of CO : 20 + 1%; CH4 : 3 + 1%, H2 : 20 + 1%, CO2 : 12 + 1% and rest, N2.
  8. 8. Biomass Gasification• The essence of gasification process is the conversion of solid carbon fuels into carbon monoxide by thermo chemical process.• This process is made possible in a device called biomass gasifier.
  9. 9. Power Generation using biomass• Using the gas obtained from biomass fuel, it is possible to operate a diesel engine on Dual Fuel Mode with marginal changes to the air inlet or in a 100% Producer Gas Engine. In dual fuel mode, diesel substitution of the order of 80 to 85% can be obtained at nominal loads.
  10. 10. Power Generation using biomass
  11. 11. Power Generation using biomass• The recent developments have made possible the operations of Spark ignited gas engine using gas obtained from biomass fuel alone.• The mechanical energy thus derived can be used directly to energizing mechanical device or by coupling with an alternator for electrical power generation, either for local consumption or for grid synchronization.
  12. 12. Power Generation by Biomass Gasification Description Indian RupeesCost of Biomass per KWh * 2.76Cost of O & M per KWh 0.8Cost of Power Generation per KWh 3.56* Cost of Biomass - Rs.2.00/KgAverage Consumptionof Biomass - 1.20 Kg/KWhInternal Consumption -15%Total Consumptionof Biomass - 1.20x1.15=1.38 Kg/KWhCost of Biomass - 2.00x1.38=Rs.2.76/KWh
  13. 13. Power Generation by 100% Diesel Generator Description Indian Rupees Cost of Diesel per KWh * 13.53 Cost of O & M per KWh 0.3Cost of Power Generation per KWh 13.83 * Cost of Diesel - Rs.41.00/liter Average Consumption of Diesel - 0.33 liters/KWh Cost of Diesel - Rs.13.53/KWh
  14. 14. Savings whencompared to 100% Diesel- Rs.10.27 / KWh
  15. 15. 80-90% Energy Saving: Salient Features / Relevant Data:• High conversion efficiency of 70 - 80% from solid biomass to gaseous fuel.• Each Kilogram of Biomass produces around 2.5 to 3.0 cubic meters of gas having a calorific value of 1000 - 1100 kilocalories per cubic meter.• A Liter of liquid fuels (diesel / gasoline) can be saved with only 3 to 4 kilograms of biomass.
  16. 16. 80-90% Energy Saving: Salient Features / Relevant Data:• Extremely clean and complete combustion of gas due high hydrogen content.• Wide turn down ratio. Positive environmental impact through saving of biomass in mot cases.• Positive impact on global climate i.e. reduced threat of global warming.
  17. 17. Benefits of Biomass Gassifier• It meets the endeavors of a country in harnessing alternate renewable energy resources in the context of energy crisis and conservation• Its eco friendly• Reduces deforestation• Produces smokeless fuel• Heat treatment furnaces• Gives value added fertilizer which is organic hence cause soil nutrient ion increase productivity
  18. 18. Benefits of Biomass Gassifier• Brings clean environment due to lowering of pollution of land air water based resulting in improved sanitation• Convenience and leisure to woman• Gives rural employment hence improves rural economy• Rubber & Footwear industries• Enables for carbon credit
  19. 19. SOLAR SYSTEM WITH BATTERY BACKUP
  20. 20. SOLAR SYSTEM WITHOUT BATTERY BACKUP
  21. 21. SOLAR SYSTEM WITHOUT BATTERY BACKUP• THIS METHOS REDUCE THE COST BECAUSE THERE IS NO BATTERY BACKUP, IT IS ONLY FOR DAY TIME USE
  22. 22. Advantages of Solar Power• Photovoltaic solar power is one of the most promising renewable energy sources in the world.• Generates free energy from the sun• Has no moving part to break down thus requiring minimal maintenance
  23. 23. Advantages of Solar Power• Non-polluting energy reduces emissions: Has no direct impact on the environment• Photovoltaic (PV) cells are modular, you can start with a small system and expand as your needs increase• Systems have a long life & durability. Cells last 25-30 years
  24. 24. Advantages of Solar Power• Grid-Tie systems allow you to sell excess electricity back to the utility• Can be installed and operated anywhere including areas of difficult access and remote locations• Helps get us off dependence on foreign oil• PV cells make no noise and give off no exhaust
  25. 25. Advantages of Solar Power• Allow the use of electricity in remote areas where it would be expensive or impossible to run power lines• Have electrical power during blackouts• Rebates and incentives available. 30% Federal tax credit, plus state and local incentives
  26. 26. WIND ENERGY• MRCGE provides total solutions in wind power generation with cohesive integration of consultancy, design, manufacturing, installation, operation and maintenance services. Its products include the integrated service for the wind turbines and wind parks.
  27. 27. WIND ENERGY• Wind is a form of solar energy. Winds are caused by the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities of the earths surface, and rotation of the earth. Wind flow patterns are modified by the earths terrain, bodies of water, and vegetation. Humans use this wind flow, or motion energy, for many purposes: sailing, flying a kite, and even generating electricity.
  28. 28. WIND ENERGY• MRCG Energy specializes in offering comprehensive green energy solutions combining wind and solar power into a single hybrid system. Kestrel alone is the certified hybrid wind turbine in the world. The value that MRCG Energy brings to India is simply amazing.• MRCG Energy solution can eliminate the need for diesel based generation even in moderate wind regime zones. (Wind speed of 4m/s)
  29. 29. WIND ENERGY• MRCG Energy hybrid green energy solution is sustainable, with a life span of 18-20 years.• The ROI could be as low 24 to 30 months on MRCG Energy solutions, with the remaining 17 + years being almost Zero cost energy!!• Our wind turbines have successfully demonstrated these concepts in hundreds of locations worldwide.
  30. 30. ADVANTAGES OF WIND POWER ENERGY• The wind is free and with modern technology it can be captured efficiently.• Once the wind turbine is built the energy it produces does not cause green house gases or other pollutants.• Wind turbines have a role to play in both the developed and third world.• Wind turbines are available in a range of sizes which means a vast range of people and businesses can use them. Single households to small towns and villages can make good use of range of wind turbines available today
  31. 31. WIND WITH SOLAR HYDRID ENERGY SYSTEM• The hybrid system uses solar and wind energy to generate electricity, it consists of windmill, solar panels, batteries and an inverter. It generates around 1800 KW of electricity, that’s enough to run at least a fan and a tube-light in every room of that seven storey building at a given point in time. It can also bear the load of some televisions and computers.
