What is MoLeNET ? <ul><li>C </li></ul><ul><li>Mobile Learning Network, </li></ul><ul><li>it is a unique collaborative approach to encouraging, supporting, expanding and promoting mobile learning , primarily in the English Further Education sector, via supported shared cost mobile learning projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Lilian Soon our MoLeNET Mentor http://www. How did we get started? <ul><li>C </li></ul><ul><li>The EFC Consortium was successful in its bid last October and secured a £1 40,000 funding to invest in mobile technology. </li></ul><ul><li>So far, 268 devices have been ordered including 60 iphones, 62 Flip HD video cameras, 36 netbooks, 25 PDAs, 38 voice recorders, 28 Fizzbooks and 20 Talking photo albums. </li></ul><ul><li>There are 200 participants (31 Staff and 169 Students) including 18 E&D Champions , 18 Voice Champions and 15 e-Mentors . </li></ul>

What is the project about? <ul><li>C </li></ul><ul><li> Building an inclusive culture and increasing student voice through the use of technology. </li></ul><ul><li>There are 3 main focus to the project: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Anti discrimination </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Empowering students </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Changing the way we teach and learn by using mobile technologies </li></ul></ul>

What are we going to do? <ul><li>C </li></ul><ul><li>The project is looking at empowering students within the college decision process and engaging them in the college life. </li></ul><ul><li>You are essential to creating new ways of working and learning through your different roles on the project, by building a supportive culture and embedding new technologies as a learning tool. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a student-led project, for the students and by the students. Staff is here to guide you. Your target audience is your peers. </li></ul>
  7. 7. How are we going to do it? <ul><li>C </li></ul>You should all be equipped with a mobile device of your choice that is fit for your project outcome.

All with different expertise. </li></ul><ul><li>The will allow you to capture digital images, MP3's and videos enabling you to work on self-initiated projects that reflect the main theme of tackling discrimination and encouraging inclusiveness . </li></ul><ul><li>The handsets will also facilitate cross college / borough communication and dissemination, you can easily share your work and ideas with each other by publishing your work onto Mahara e-Portfolios our Communication platform </li></ul><ul><li> </li></ul>
