1. 1. SMART Goal Victoria Saunders Well Choices Healthy Active Life Jose Gonazlez
 2. 2. What is a SMART Goal?

S pecific

M easurable

A ttainable

R ealistic

T imely

 3. 3. My SMART Goal

My SMART Goal this semester was to achieve a 3.5 GPA, and to eat a healthier balanced diet.

 4. 4. Why did I choose that SMART Goal?

I chose to strive to achieve a 3.5 GPA because I want to end my senior year with grades that I am very proud of.

I also chose to eat healthier because heart problems run in my family, and I’d like to get a handle on it and prevent problems in my own life before it’s too late.

 5. 5. How I planned to accomplish each goal

I knew that by attending all of my classes, completing assignments and studying hard/ being prepared would help me achieve good grades in my classes.

I also saved a portion of my checks bi-weekly to go towards a healthy balanced grocery list. I planned to write out my grocery list before actually getting to the store and only getting what was on the list.

 6. 6. Logs (a sample of grocery lists I wrote out before getting to the store)

(Last week of Sept.)

Skim Milk

Whole Grain Bread

Sandwich meats

Salad stuff-lettuce, avacado, tomatoe,cucumber

Grapes

Carrots, Hummus

Raisin Bran

(Mid October)

Total

Salad materials

Sandwich Meat

Filet of Salmon

Green beans

Soup

Fruit

Carrots & Hummus

Eggs

chicken

 7. 7. Log of Grades

Because this is public I’d rather not share my grades- However, I have seen a huge improvement in them from working really hard, dedicating more time to school & focusing. Normally I’m more of a B student, but lately I’ve be striving well over a B average. I will continue to work on this and keep it up through next semester.

 8. 8. Problems I found

I found it very difficult to go to the grocery store and want to buy things that were not on my list. Self- Control was something I needed to focus on quite a bit.

Another thing I found difficult was to spend more than I had on my budget because to eat healthy is not cheap.

 9. 9. End Results

As for my grades, I won’t know if I’ve achieved that until after the semester is finished.

As for eating healthier, I think I have. There have been times I splurge and buy something not on my list, but I think it’s okay to treat yourself sometimes- and it’s not like I’m in serious health risk right now.

I feel good about this routine and I will continue to try and buy healthy foods and keep my grades up!
